Benazir Bhutto Chair's message

.

It was indeed a huge challenge to undertake organising and implementation of the Fatima Jinnah Awards 2014 on behalf of LCWU with UNICEF Punjab and Women Development Department Government of Punjab as partners. The event was funded by UNGEI, United Nations Girls Education Initiative. As Benazir Bhutto Chair and focal person of these prestigious awards on behalf of LCWU it was my prime responsibility to ensure transparency of the selection process as well as to identify women par excellence who merited to be applauded and rewarded for services in their respective fields. It was indeed a proud moment for LCWU when at Governor House 19 top professional women gathered together to receive the Fatima Jinnah 2014 medal and a certificate from Governor Punjab alongside Dr.Sabiha Mansoor, Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University . This award also signifies admirable role models for our younger generation to emulate and look up to. Benazir Bhutto Chair is privileged to have played such a significant role in the revival of these awards and I hope this tradition will continue in the years to come.

Warm Regards

Moneeza Hashmi

side by side with you. We are victims of evil customs. It is a

crime against humanity that our women are shut up within the

four walls of the houses as prisoners. There is no sanction

anywhere for the deplorable condition in which our women have

to live” - Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Address to the students at Ali
