    Disability Awareness

A friend tearfully shared how anusher asked her to leave a churchservice because of her squirmy tod-dler. But the boy wasnt just havinga bad morning; he was born with agenetic disorder called Fragile X,

which makes it nearly impossible tosit quietly.

It was nearly a year before thatmother attended a church again. Then she found one with a shep-herd program, where trained volun-teers help children with specialneeds participate in worship, Sun-day school and church activities.

As we look for ways to reach out topeople with disabilities, rememberthat Gods love has no limits. Howcan we, as Gods church, reflectthat love?

    The Week at a Glance

It has been determined that the Monday in the last full week of January is the most depressing day of theyear. This year, Blue Monday fell on January 23. This date is based on a combination of bad weather,

Christmas debts, broken New Years resolutions and the end of the holiday break. But no matter how bleakthings seem, regardless of the time of year, Christians always have reason for hope. Thankfully, we can look

beyond our earthly circumstances to the promise of new life with God forever. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.

A Special Note To: Sunday School Teachers

Deacon of the Week: Tommy Woodford 434.587.0967

Was That A Compliment? After a worship service, a pastor was greeting people at the front door. A woman shook hishand vigorously and said, That was a very helpful sermon. You know, you ought to have

your sermons put in a book. Thank you! answered the pastor. Maybe my wife will have some of them published after

Im dead. Well, responded the elderly saint, the sooner the better.

Many times we are asked, Who is mydeacon?

To help you, we will list the Deacon of theWeek and his list of families in the WLBCBulletin ENewsletter. There will be acomplete list posted on the bulletin board nearthe church office. This complete list isalphabetical by your last name. We hope thiswill help you know who your deacon is for theyear. If you have any questions, please feel freeto contact the church office.
