PASTOR’S MESSAGE 3 PASTOR’S MESSAGE 3
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In the Gospel we read the miracle of the Multiplication of the loaves and fish. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that in this miracle, when the Lord says the blessing, breaks and distributes the loaves through His disciples to feed the multitu-de, there is a prefiguration of the superabundance of the unique Bread of the Eucha-rist. The sign of water turned into wine at Cana already announces the Hour of Jesus' glorification (Jn 2,4.11). It makes manifest the fulfillment of the wedding feast in the Father's Kingdom, where the faithful will drink the new wine (Mk 14,25) that has become the Blood of Christ.
We know that the Eucharist is our life. It is the strength of our souls. And Saint John recounts this miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fish, which is connected with the discourses at Capernaum in which Je-sus presents himself as the Bread of life.
We have to pay attention to something very remarkable of this Gospel. Saint John says that shortly before the Passover, Jesus works the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and the fish, which prefigures the Chris-tian Easter and the mystery of the Blessed Eucharist, as he himself explains in the discourse, in which he pro-mises himself as nourishment for the souls.
Jesus does not only work a miracle but He is teaching and He is prefiguring the treasure of the Eucharist. So as to make us think about the superabundance of the Eucharist, to think of the Eucharist as the “source and the summit of our life”, as the Church teaches us. To say that the Eucharist is the "source and summit of Christian life" means at least two things. First, that our spirituality flows from the Eucharist as its source, the way light streams forth from the sun. And second, that our spirituality is supremely realized in and ordered to the Eucharist as its summit or highpoint – that to which all of our actions should ultimately be directed.
Then, when we feel weak in our spiritual life, let us first examine our Eucharistic devotion and dedication, and let us center our lives in the Mystery of the Eucharist.
God bless you.

Họ thu lại được mười hai thúng đầy bánh vụn do năm chiếc bánh
