    Music News

Even though its not EASTER yet, wed love to see some morechildren and adults join us for that important celebration in thelife of all Christians. All of our choirs are now back in businessfor the new year. I share with you, now , a text that we will besinging at communion on EASTER DAY. It is a poem byCharles T Chapman , Jr. and set to music by Sam Batt Owens, our previous music director. It makes for a nice theological

reflection on our faith with or without the music, throughout allthe seasons of the church year.

As once you were in Marys womb, You also were in Josephstomb, The tomb by you a womb was made. You are the first born from the dead.As once you were with God on high, On earth we made you bow

and die; In bowing so you became the King.Thy kingdom come all saints now sing.As once this bread was just mere food, Also this wine a commondrink; So now this cup contains your blood,The bread does now your body link.As once in sin we shamefully lay, Through your own flesh isopened the way, The way to life forever more,With you whom we would eer adore.

    EPISCOPAL YOUTH COMMUNITY

Thank you to all who made our Spaghetti Dinner and Parish

Talent Show a success. The youths energy and service was

wonderful. We could not have done it without you, or our adult

volunteers, Tina Poisson, Virginia Colantuono, and Anne

Randall. The time they spent preparing for and their assistance

during the event was fantastic. A big thanks also, to all of those

who volunteered to be in our talent show. Thank you for sharing

your gifts. And, we must not forget our 80 parish family

members and friends, who joined us for the evening; yoursupport and enthusiasm for our youth is much appreciated. We

hope to see everyone again at next years Spaghetti Dinner.

PRESCHOOL NEWSThe preschool year ended with a wonderful celebration about thebirth of Jesus. The children had a brief chapel service for theparents so that they may see what we do each Monday in the

church. That was followed by each class singing and participatingin our short play. I am always so proud of our students!

We had a long break and now are gearing up for a wonderful 2012.

Thank you to everyone that helped make 2011 a special year.Especially our wonderful teachers. Marla, Tracy, Leslie, Virginia,Diana, and Kym...You are the BEST!

    With much love,Catharine Hedrick

    THE POEMFROM SUNDAY, JANUARY15.

A number of you requested for me to put this poem in thenewsletter. It was written at 6 a.m. Sunday, January 15 while I wasfinishing up my critique for the sermon that I was to preach that

day. It was in response to a poem that went viral on youtube theweek before titled:

    WHYI HATERELIGIONBUTLOVEJESUSBYJEFFERYBETHKE.

Yes Religion has done a lot of evilBut it has also done a lot of goodAll humans, all institutions are broken

If only we understoodChurch is a place we go to meet each otherAnd worship our Lord our ChristWe learn what Jesus did and how he livedWho paid the ultimate price

We are the Body of ChristWe are His hands and feet

So remember thisWithout each other, we can never be complete

We come here to this church todayWhere some out there will label us soHypocrites, sinners, false prophets, maybeBut Only God will really know

Jesus is not religion, is not Christianitybecause he's God's only sonBut Jesus is religion, is Christianitybecause he is in everyone

This is what Jesus DoesHe looks at youHe sees your heartAnd saves you just because.
