On behalf Of the Director-General. I am pleased to inform you that the lntemationalCenter for Sustainable Energy Development (lsEDC) in Moscow, RussianFederation is offering twonfy (20) fellowships Of four-week duration within theframework Of the UNESCO/lsEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme.

This Programme is offered in open competition` As the number Of fellowships put atthe disposal Of UNESCO under this Programme is limited, only candidates whodemonstrate outstanding intellectual qualities, imagination and personal commitmentwill have a chance of being selected. UNESCO/ISEDCCO-SPONSOPIED FELLOWSHIPS PBOGPIAMME -2017

INTRODUCTIONE=

ln line witli the strategy and objectives of the approved UNESCO Programme andBudget for the Fellowships Programme Section, the UNESCO Category 11 InternationalCenter for.Sustainable Energy Development (lsEDC) in Moscow (Prussian Federation) isoffering twenty (20) fellowships Of four weeks (4) duration each in 2017, The aim Of thisfellows,hips programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resourcesdevelopment in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developingcountries and countries in transition, The training activities in the framework of thesefellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Prussian Federation. The medium ofinstruction will be English. UNESCO will solicit applications from the developing countriesand countries in transition (list of invited Member States in Annex I).

2. FIELDS OF STUDY

The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are alignedwith UNESCO's objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 38 C/5 and inaccordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board:

(ti) Energy and sustainable development;(b) Ecological management of energy resources;(c) Ftenewable energy;(d) Sustainable and renewable energy power generation.

QUALIFICATIONS F}EQUIPIED

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

(a) Holder of at least a BSc degree or BA in Economics;(b) Proficient in English;(c) Not more than 35 years of age.

PBOCEDUBES FOP THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

(a) All applications should be endorsed by the National commission for UNESCOand must be duly completed jn English or French with the following attachments jnDUPLICATE:

• The prescribed uNESco fellowship application form;• Six photographs;• Certified photocopies of diplomas;• Certificate of English language proficiency (.rf English is not the mother

tongue);• Subsequently, for those who have been selected, the UNESCO medical

examination form duly completed by a recognized physician (not morethan four months before the actual date of studies), the prescribed form ofwhich will be sent along with the letter Of award. Expenses incurred in theconstitution of the medical dossiers will not be reimbursed.

(b) Files which are incomplete or received after the deadline for the submission ofapplications and candidatures, and do not fulfil the requirements mentionedabove, will not be considered.

(c) Each invited Member state is requested to riominate not more than t`ro (2)candidates.

SELECTION OF BENEFICIABIES

(a) The final selection of beneficiaries lies with lsEDC.

(b) The National Commission Of Selected fellows will be duly informed byUNESCO and the letter Of award will immediately follow.

(c) UNESCO will authorize the departure of beneficiaries who have completelycomplied with the requirements stipulated in the letter of award.

(d) Candidates not informed of their Selection by ls' September 2017 shouldconsider that their applications have not been approved.

FACILITIES OFFEBED BY ISEDC

(a) Beneficiaries will be exempt from paying tuition fees for the entire duration ofstudies/training,

(b) Fellows will undertake studiesftraining under the supervision of an advisor orstudy dii.ector that will be provided by the host institution.

(c) The donor Government will pay stipends to beneficiaries on a monthly basis, inlocal currency. The stipend amounting to four hundred seventy (470) US dollars isintended to cover living expenses such as accommodation, meals, pocketexpenses, and incidentals.

(d) lsEDC will assist in obtaining modest hoiising for the fellows.

FACILITIES OFFEBED BY UNESCO

(a) UNESCO will cover the cost Of the round-trip international travel at the mosteconomical rate and the most direct flights.

(b) UNESCo wiM pay a one-time travel aHowance amounting to one hundred (100)US dollars prior to the fellows' departure for the Russian Federation.

(c) Health insurance: To avail of this entitlement, beneficiarje§ should be declaredmedically fit by the UNESCO Medical Service that examines the complete

-- medical dossiers.

9 ' , OTHEBCONDITIONS

(a) No provisions can be made to finance or lodge the feHow§' fa"y members.

(b) Beneficiaries will be required to Submit to UNESCO a final report upontermination of the fellowship. This report could be written in English or inFrench and its copy will be furnished to ISEDC.
