Allofthekeycountrieshavedevelopedcyberdefencecentres,eitherstandaloneorembeddedindefenceministriesorintelligenceandlawenforcementagencies.AndthemajorNordiccountriesandtheNATO-alignedBalticstateshavecreatedacross-borderNordicDefenceCooperation(NORDEFCO)vehicletolookatbothmilitarysystemsandindustrialinfrastructureandtodevelopcommoncyberstrategies.

Intheprivatesectortoo,commonthreatsareencouragingsharedsolutions.Forexample,Nordicbanksaresteppingupthecollaborationtofightcybercrimeviaanewcollaborationforum,theNordicFinancialCERT,basedinOslo.

ButasSweden'sSäpo pointsout,the"protectiondeficit"- thedifferencebetweencompanies'capabilitiesandthoseoftheattackers- isgrowing.Justoneissue:TherearealreadymoreconnectedthingsthanpeopleintheNordicsandtheIoT isasignificantincreaseintheNordicattacksurface.

CISOsneedhelppickingtherightprioritiesandtherightsolutions.Theyfacetheindustrializationofcyber-crime,fraudandtheft,theneedtosupportthedigitaltransformationofcompanies’underlyingbusinessandawallofnewregulationcomingatthemoverthenext12to18months.
