Ross and Robyn Bell drove four hours from Milton on the South coast to join us today, and Ross also put on his suave black hat and took charge of his unique auc-tioneers gavel to conduct our first ever Christmas Auction.
Warren Tite ventured all the way from Tahmoor for the day, and it was great to see Edna and Les
Lewis and their granddaughter.
It was a fun-filled afternoon for everyone with plenty of good food, good refreshments and lots of laughs in great company. What
27 November 2011. Sydney saw heavy rain on many November days but the sun was with us for our 2011 Christmas Function / Presentation Day. We made our way to our designated meeting place at Liverpool for a leisurely drive in our Austin 7’s to the Twin Creeks Golf & Country Club at
Luddenham.
This world-class venue was the perfect setting for a fabulous lunch and afternoon together. Twenty-six members and friends and six chil-dren gathered for what was to be our best ever Christmas event.

As the end of 2011 approaches we can reflect on this years Club activi-ties so far. To date there have been 17 events; a couple were social and the rest were Club Runs using our Sevens. That’s a lot of events; not many other clubs have that many.
The final events this year will be the Christmas Function / Presentation Day and our Ladies Day in honour
and appreciation of the many women in our Club and their great contribu-tion to our events; and their toler-ance of us mere males. Both of these are very important annual events.
We will hold our Clubs Annual Gen-eral Meeting at the usual meeting location in the NRMA Conference Room at North Strathfield. The elec-tion of Officer Bearers for the next 12 months will take place at this meet-ing. All written nominations for Elec-tion should be lodged with the Club

Secretary a minimum of seven days prior to the meeting. The Nomination form included with your last Baby Torque magazine incorrectly indicat-ed fourteen days prior to the meet-ing; however that form still remains the only one to use for nominations.
When the new Constitution was is-sued to members it did not contain Appendices A & B; B being a Pro
Forma Proxy form. Accordingly, in-cluded with this Baby Torque maga-zine you will find a Proxy form that can be use if needed.
The lack of these Appendices was minuted in April 2011 and it was resolved that the next re-print of the Constitution will contain these Ap-pendices.
I hope to see you again at the final 2011 Club events.
Happy Sevening … Warren Gracie

more could we ask for!
Well there was plenty more. After lunch President Warren Gracie presented our 2011 Club Awards to the many deserv-ing winners. See page 7 for the full list of happy recipients.
After what many would call a very long lunch, our members were ready for what was to become a fierce bidding war for a variety of interesting and useful goods at our Christmas Auction. Some mem-bers made two and three purchases; and in some cases even bought back the goods they had donated themselves.
There was lots of luxury items to pam-per the ladies, some fine old reds, col-lectable model Austin 7’s, some useful A7 spare parts, toys, gifts, vases, travel rugs and so much more … you name it and Ross auctioned it!
This all made for a very enjoyable after-noon that raised almost $500 towards the production of this Baby Torque
magazine. A big thank you to those who generously supported this fun event.
As the year draws to a close and our Annual General Meeting is fast ap-proaching; it’s time for me (the editor) to say thank you to all the members who have contributed to this magazine dur-
ing the year, helping to make it such a fun and interesting read for everyone.
It’s fair to say as Club members we all have at least two things in common; a fondness for A7’s in their many different forms and a membership to what has to be the very best car Club in Australia.

Presentation Day Continued from front Page
It was an early 6:00am start on Saturday morning and parts sold well. Our Club site was visited by Jim Dunn, Bob McCarthy, Graeme & Bev Logan, Ian Whitehouse (QLD Club), John & Robin Ikin (Central Coast Club), Dave Hall, Scott Ap-pleyard, David Grear (SA Club), Ian Mann (Austin Club NSW). Our Club members Gary Brown, Eric Bourn, and Anthony & Kevin Harte manned our site. Although A7 parts were a bit thin on the ground we did eventually find them. We had many enquiries about our Club over the weekend. A good time was had by all and we are looking forward to the 2012 Meet. There were 14 peo-ple for dinner on Friday and 16 people on Saturday night at the Lakeview Hotel. Good
food, good beer … and most of all … good company! ….. Article by Kevin Harte

Robert and Faye Yarroll are the proud owners of a delightful 1932 Austin 7 RP Saloon they call Herbie. They joined the club in late 2009 just before importing their car from New Zealand.
“Our little Herbie was in fair condition when he arrived, but we’ve put in many hours of hard work to improve him to his current condition. We are so grateful for all the encouragement and help we’ve received from Club members. We really didn’t have a clue about old cars before we joined the Club”, Faye said.
Robert and Faye have been active mem-bers since joining and have attended most runs and events since. Faye said, “I loved the 2011 Austins Over Australia at Forbes. We had great fun and met
Car of the Month ... Robert & Faye Yarroll’s little Herbie
lots of people from other Austin clubs too. The dress-up day was really good although it took us ages to find all the old style clothes we wore that day”.
The Yarroll’s christened their new car-
trailer when they took Herbie to Forbes. Robert said, “now that we’ve got the trailer we’re ready for our big trip to Ad-elaide in 2012 for the National Austin 7 Hub Rally. And while we’re there we’ll be joining our first Bay to Birdwood run too”.
There has been many firsts for Robert and Faye since joining the Club … visit-ing many of our Club Run destinations has been first time experiences for them … even though they have always lived in Sydney!

Information Sheet
If you would like to see your Austin 7 featured in this magazine please com-
plete and return the “Car of the Month - Information Sheet” available from
the Editor.
Robert said, “Spending most of our lives to date working, eating and sleeping, and then doing it all again, it’s been a real pleasure being part of the Club and sharing lots of laughs and seeing new places with other members”.
Faye and Robert have been part of our Club Committee this year and maintain our Membership records as well as pro-ducing this Baby Torque magazine and keeping our website fresh. If you haven’t already noticed, Faye can often be seen taking our Happy Snaps on most Club Runs so our outings can be shared with our local, national and international
Baby Torque readers.
The Yarroll’s have attended the 2010 and 2011 President’s Weekends, 2011 Austin’s Over Australia in Forbes, 2011 Wagga Wagga Veteran and Vintage Mo-tor Club Rally, 2010 and 2011 Historic Winton, 2010 Wakefield Historic Racing and most Club Runs, Displays and Gen-eral Club Meetings … and have enjoyed each and every one of them.
If the Yarroll’s keep up their enthusiasm
for the Club then their little Herbie should have a bright and happy future.
Happy motoring!

calendars in full colour or crystal-clear black & white
as you want. Once printed simply punch a hole in the

knot. It’s now ready to hang and enjoy. Just ask a
friend or family member for help if you haven’t got
access to a computer or your computer skills are a lit-
tle rusty. You can also visit our websites Calendar

6 November 2011. Today four Austin Sevens and a modern set off from North Strathfield and headed north for our monthly breakfast run; this time
to the Hawkesbury River Marina. This scenic venue is situated on the beauti-ful Hawkesbury River at Brooklyn. Ken Rolley, Faye & Robert Yarroll, Maureen & Merv Boatwright, Ashley & Lucas Cottell and Paul, Katie & Jessi-ca Boatwright departed North Strathfield, and after a brief petrol stop, made their way to Berowra to meet Amy & Paul Pui and Sue & George McGill.
Summer weather was upon us and the temperature quickly reached a very warm 38°. Just to make things a bit more interesting, and without mention-ing any names, a few frantic mobile telephone calls were made at Berowra to
the effect “Ken Rolley … where are you?”. Ken eventually arrived at Berowra and we then set off for our breakfast at Brooklyn.
The day was a real test for our little 7’s, winding our way up and down and twisting around the many bends that makes the old Pacific Highway a bikers delight on any Sunday. This mornings leisurely drive in our Austin’s soon felt like we were involved in a motor-bike race as dozens of bikes zoomed past us often ignoring the double lines, speed limits and other motorists and cyclists. Luckily, we all arrived at Brooklyn safe and well where Barbara and Kevin
Fahey were waiting for us and our cars.
We left our babies on display at the grassy waterfront area near the car-park where locals and visitors took the opportunity to ad-mire our little cut-ies. It was now time for us to relax and enjoy a hearty breakfast. There
was freshly brewed coffee and cakes, salmon and eggs, scrambled eggs and all sorts of yummy delights on our menu … some-thing for everyone.
The day proved to be another great opportunity to tour in our Sevens and provided plenty of photo opportunities for admirers at the marina. We hope to see you on our next south-bound Breakfast Run on 15 January 2012.

Once again I wish to sincerely thank the many Members who have supported the Austin 7 Club NSW during 2011 by purchasing parts from our Spare Parts Division.

as needed. This helps to keep our little Austin 7’s where
they belong … on the road.
I wish all Members and their Families a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

you 2 points, while attending a general meeting will
score you 1 point. These points are awarded whether
you attend in your Austin 7 or modern car. The per-
