D.I.P. INTO FIRST AID• The purpose of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross First Aid / CPR / AED

program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. DIP into First Aid courses teach skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

OUR CORE COURSES• STANDARD FIRST AID / CPR AT WORK – 1 DAYWho is it for? – Ideal for higher hazard work environments such as

construction or manufacturing, or where your needs assessment identifies a requirement for additional training.

What will I learn? – Along with emergency first aid participants will gain skills in recognizing and treatment of a wide range of major illness including heart attacks, strokes, asthma and diabetes.

• EMERGENCY FIRST AID/CPR AT WORK – 1 DAYWho is it for? – Ideal for those working in low hazard environments such as

office or shop, or where your needs assessments identifies a requirement of somebody trained in emergency First Aid.

What will I learn? – First Aid skills to help you respond to an accident or first aid emergency in the workplace.

OUR CORE COURSES• AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) – 2 HOURSWho is it for? - Candidates who wish to be trained in the use of an AED

machine in the workplace and who have a current First Aid certificate.What will I learn? – In addition to a session on Before Giving Care, you will

learn how to use an AED, look at safety consideration and build confidence in using the machine in a range of simulated situations.

• FIRST AID AT WORK REQUALIFICATION – 1 DAYWho is it for? – it is ideal for people who need to renew their first aid at work

certification and whose existing certificate is still valid.What will I learn? – You will be able to build upon your existing skills, revising

the techniques you learnt on the one day First Aid at work course.

STANDARD FIRST AIDCOURSE DURATION : The course duration is 8 hours of training.COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course is designed to allow participants attain a basic

understanding of key First Aid situations and their treatment. It will enable participants to act as a back up to Emergency Medical Technicians in an occupational setting and / or respond to and emergency prior to the arrival of more qualified personnel.

COURSE CONTENT: This program is delivered using a variety of tools, including PowerPoint presentations and interactive DVDs using a watch then practice method. There key items covered on the courses are:
