Dynamic Empowerment
“If you don’t know where you are going, how can you expect to get
there?”-Basil Walsh
What do I want to Accomplish...
Many people just go along day to day without a lot of thought as to what they want to achieve. Even fewer actually take the time to write down goals. In fact less than 2% actually write down specific goals. Imagine what an opportunity that gives the people who do write down goals!
True or False?
Setting a goal in our minds changes our brain chemistry.
True!According to the research of psychologists, neurologists, and other scientists, setting a
goal invests ourselves into the target as if we’d already accomplished it. That is, by setting
something as a goal, however small or large, however near or far in the future, a part of our
brain believes that desired outcome is an essential part of who we are – setting up the conditions that drive us to work towards the
goals to fulfill the brain’s self-image. It also increases Dopamine (reward and motivation
brain chemical) secretion associated with the goal so our unconscious helps to bring about the achievement
of our goals as well!

Study 1
According to Dave Kohl, professor emeritus at Virginia Tech:People who regularly write down their goals earn nine
times as much over their lifetimes as people who don't.80% of Americans say they don't have goals.16% do have goals but don't write them down.Less than 4% write down their goals and fewer than 1%
review them on an ongoing basis.

Writing Down Goals
The act of putting an idea down on paper (or computer) makes us consider the idea in a more focused and thoughtful way. What we get is a more clearly defined view of the issues surrounding our goals.
Reaching Goals
Take a look "under the hood" and think about 2 things you would like to improve or accomplish this year. One Personal, (Health, Relationships, Weight Loss, Deep Breathing, Doing the "Flying Wave" more etc....:) ) and one Professional, focused on your career. How you might want to improve skills or success rates and how that might be accomplished. Just giving these things our mental attention puts us way ahead of most other people, and add to that writing your goals down and you are getting a big head-start toward success in the New Year.
So this month’s Empowerment mission is…
