Typical materials conveyed are:alumina, aluminum oxide, baby formula, ball clay, barite, bauxite, bentonite,borax, calcium carbonate, calcium chloride, carbon black, cement, roastedcoffee beans, green coffee beans, cullet, detergent, feldspar, fine coal, flour,fluorspar, fly ash, foundry molding sand, glass batch, glass beads, ground meal,gypsum, iron oxide, kaolin clay, kyanite, lime, litharge, magnesium, milkpowder, peanuts, PVC resin, quartz, roofing granules, salt, silica sand, soda ash,sodium sulfate, steel chips, sulfur, sugar, talc, titanium dioxide and more.
We can convey many materials withconveying velocities as low as 50 feetper minute (0.25 m/sec) using ourHDP 6000 dense phase pneumaticconveying system and, using our LDP2000 dilute phase pneumatic convey-ing system, we can convey at veloci-ties well over 7000 feet per minute(35 m/sec). Plus our conveyingcapacities range from just a fewhundred pounds (100 kg) of materialper hour up to 400 tons per hour andconveying distances exceeding 5000feet (1500 m) in length.
In addition, our pneumatic conveyingsystems become highly efficient whenthey employ our unique patentedDC-5® Air Saver technology and areunmatched for performance andreliability. These systems can handleeven the most difficult of materials,plus they significantly reduce theenergy requirements and conveymaterial at much lower conveyingline velocity with higher conveyingline densities and reduced dynamicloading.
When our DC-5 AirSaver technology isemployed on lowerpressure systemsusing less than15 PSIG (1 barg),in many applica-tions we can lowerthe conveying linevelocity well below
the normal saltation velocity. Dependingon the material being conveyed, we alsocan reduce energy requirements anddrastically improve system performanceand reliability.
The Result:Gentle handling of heavy abrasive andnon-abrasive materials that cannottolerate degradation. One of the secrets of a successful andhighly efficient pneumatic conveyingsystem, whether it is a high pressuredense phase system or a low pressuredilute phase system, is trying toachieve an optimum pressure balance.Many systems operate in what we callan unstable and/or unbalancedpressure condition. This means theconveying system can be using eithertoo much compressed air or notenough compressed air, both of whichare undesirable.
When excessive compressed air isused to convey a given material, theconveying velocity will be too highand the result can be material break-down or excessive wear on thesystem. Also, the system will useexcessive energy, and thereforemaintenance becomes higher andreliability is reduced. When notenough compressed air is used, theconvey rate may be too low and it’seven possible that conveying lineplugging can occur.
It is also important to understand thatevery system must constantly fightfriction, and that this friction isusually not evenly distributedthroughout the conveying line.For instance, tubing bends are a majorcause of friction in a pneumaticconveying system and they can easilybe responsible for more than 50% ofthe total resistance of the pneumaticconveying system. The straight tubingin a system, however, has a muchlower level of friction than a tubingbend.
Other friction factors which must beconsidered are components such asconveying line couplings, divertervalves, elevation changes, etc. Also,the shape, density and cohesiveness ofeach material to be conveyed createanother variable which adds to thetotal friction factor, thus impeding theconveying process even further.

The DC-5 Air Saver technology isadaptable to almost any type ofDynamic Air pneumatic conveyingsystem regardless of the conveyingpressure or vacuum. The DC-5 AirSaver technology is one of the most
unique products ever developed byDynamic Air and is another first inthe field, making Dynamic Air aninnovator in the field of high perfor-mance pneumatic conveying systems.

Therefore, the frictional resistanceseen in the conveying line will varyconsiderably from system to systemand throughout a given system,depending upon the components usedplus the length of the conveying lineand the conveying velocity. Thesevarying and unbalanced frictionalforces in a pneumatic conveyingsystem, if not pressure balancedproperly, can cause unstable andundesirable pressure and velocityconditions, resulting in poor perfor-mance and an unreliable and ineffi-cient conveying system.
In order to create the optimum pres-sure balance in a pneumatic conveyingsystem and to counteract the varyingforces of friction, the compressed airmust be properly and timely distrib-uted for a smooth flow of materialthrough the conveying line.
The pressure balance control must alsobe precise and instantaneous. If thepressure balance control reacts tooslowly or overcompensates, the flowof material through the conveying linewill be disrupted and the performancecompromised.
To effectively counter balance all thefriction factors normally inherent ina pneumatic conveying system,Dynamic Air has developed the DC-5Air Saver technology which accuratelycontrols and pressure balances thepneumatic conveying system.
The DC-5 Air Saver technologyachieves the proper pressure balancebecause it automatically senses theconveying system conditions andreacts instantaneously and accuratelywithout overcompensation. Thusmaterial is conveyed through theconveying line in a smooth controlledmanner and at the desired conveyingvelocity, to optimize the conveyingprocess for higher performance andreliability.

The HDP 1000 Brute Force ConceptPressure Conveying System is a densephase, high pressure, low to mediumvelocity, batch conveying system. It isgenerally used for conveying mediumto high density, heat sensitive, semi-abrasive and/or abrasive materialsover shorter distances. Examplesinclude silica sand, plastic pellets, salt,quartz, whole grain, corn, oats andbarley.
Typical conveying velocities aregenerally about 1000 feet per minute(5 m/sec) and the conveying pressureup to 60 PSIG (4 barg). A pressurevessel is used to feed material into theconveying line and the air supply, upto 100 PSIG (7 barg), is supplied froma high pressure air compressor.
The HDP 2000 Fluidizing ConceptPressure Conveying System is a densephase, medium to high pressure, lowto medium velocity, batch conveyingsystem. It is generally used forconveying medium to high density,heat sensitive, semi-abrasive and/orabrasive materials under 100 meshparticle sizes. Examples includebentonite, cement, starch, silica flour,ball clay, kaolin clay, and alumina.
Typical conveying velocities aregenerally in the range of 1000 to 5000feet per minute (5 m to 25 m/sec) andthe conveying pressure up to 60 PSIG(4 barg). A fluidizing type pressurevessel is used to feed material into theconveying line and the air supply, upto 100 PSIG (7 barg), is supplied froma high pressure air compressor.

The HDP 3000 Conventional Concept Pressure Convey-ing System is a dense phase, medium to high pressure,low to medium velocity batch type conveying system.It is generally used for conveying high to mediumdensity, heat sensitive, semi-abrasive and/or veryabrasive, cohesive and/or very fragile materials inalmost any particle size range. Examples include silicasand, glass batch, granulated sugar, powdered sugar,plastic pellets, bentonite, cement, starch, silica flour,ball clay, kaolin clay, zinc oxide and alumina.
Typical conveying velocities are generally in the rangeof 100 to 1000 feet per minute (0.5 m to 5 m/sec) and theconveying pressure up to 100 PSIG (7 barg) pressure.
This concept uses a non-fluidizing type pressure vesselto feed material into the conveying line at maximumdensity and utilizes DC-5 Air Saver technology tominimize and optimize the high pressure air which issupplied by a high pressure - up to 100 PSIG (7 barg)air compressor.
The HDP 4000 Full Line Concept Pressure ConveyingSystem is a dense phase, medium to high pressure, lowto medium velocity, batch type conveying system. It isgenerally used for conveying medium to high density,heat sensitive, semi-abrasive and/or very abrasive,cohesive, and/or very fragile materials in almost anyparticle size range over long distances. Examplesinclude silica sand, glass batch, granulated sugar,powdered sugar, finished breakfast cereal, coffee beans,plastic pellets, bentonite, cement, starch, silica flour,ball clay, kaolin clay, zinc oxide and alumina.
Typical conveying velocities are generally in the rangeof 100 to 1000 feet per minute (0.5 m to 5 m/sec) andthe conveying pressure up to 100 PSIG (7 barg).
This concept uses a single, non-fluidizing type pressurevessel to feed material into the conveying line atmaximum density. DC-5 Air Saver technology is usedto minimize and optimize the high pressure air which issupplied by a high pressure - up to 100 PSIG (7 barg) -air compressor. This concept does not need divertervalves but uses valve receivers which provide a distinctmaintenance advantage as they are located on the silotops for easy access.

The HDP 5000 Full Line Concept Continuous PressureConveying System is a dense phase, medium to highpressure, very low to medium velocity, continuousconveying system. It is generally used for conveyingmedium to high density, heat sensitive, semi-abrasiveand/or very abrasive, cohesive, and/or very fragilematerials in almost any particle size range over longdistances. Examples include finished laundry detergent,silica sand, glass batch granulated sugar, powderedsugar, finished breakfast cereal, coffee beans, plasticpellets, bentonite, cement, starch, silica flour, ball clay,kaolin clay, zinc oxide, pelletized carbon black andalumina.
Typical conveying velocities are generally in the rangeof 100 to 1000 feet per minute (0.5 m to 5 m/sec) andthe conveying pressure up to 100 PSIG (7 barg).
This concept uses two non-fluidizing type pressurevessels which operate alternately to feed material intothe conveying line at maximum density. The MDP 2000 Pressure Concept ConveyingSystem is a dense phase, low pressure, mediumvelocity, continuous conveying system. It is usedfor conveying low density, heat sensitive, andnon-abrasive materials over shorter distanceswhere high pressure compressed air is available.Examples of materials that can be conveyedinclude plastic pellets, detergent powder, wheat,barley, corn, oats, limestone, coffee beans,granulated sugar, ball clay and boric acid.
Typical conveying line velocities are 2000 to3000 feet per minute (10 m to 15 m/sec) and theconveying pressure is up to 15 PSIG (1 barg).
This concept utilizes a high density feeder tocontrol the feed rate into the conveying line. Theair is supplied by a high pressure - up to 100PSIG (7 barg) - air compressor.

The MDP 4000 Pressure Concept Convey-ing System is a dense phase, low pressure,low to medium velocity, continuous convey-ing system where compressed air is readilyavailable. It is used for conveying low ormedium density, heat sensitive, non-abra-sive and/or friable materials over shorterdistances. Examples of materials that can beconveyed include plastic pellets, finisheddetergent powder, limestone, coffee beans,granulated sugar, ball clay, boric acid,finished breakfast cereals and pelletizedcarbon black.
Typical conveying line velocities are 1000to 2000 feet per minute (5 m to 10 m/sec) andconveying pressure is up to 15 PSIG (1 barg).

The LDP 2000 Pressure Concept ConveyingSystem is a dilute phase, low pressure, highvelocity, continuous conveying system. It isgenerally used for conveying low to mediumdensity, and non-abrasive bulk solids wheredegradation of the conveyed material is nota concern. Examples of materials includeflour, sugar, salt, grain, malt and plasticpellets.
Typical conveying velocities are generallyin excess of 4000 feet per minute (20 m/sec)and conveying pressure is up to 15 PSIG(1 barg).
This concept utilizes a rotary airlock feederto control the feed rate into the conveyingline. A low pressure positive displacementblower is used for the air supply.

The LDV 2000 Vacuum Concept ConveyingSystem is a dilute phase, high velocity, lowpressure, continuous vacuum conveying systemfor shorter distances. It is generally used toconvey low to medium density and non-abrasive materials. Examples include flour,kaolin clay, plastic pellets, grain, malt, corn,starch and plastic resin.
Typical conveying velocities are generally inexcess of 4000 feet per minute (20 m/sec) andvacuum conveying pressures of up to 15 inches(381 mm) of mercury (hg).
The material is fed into the conveying line on acontinuous basis by vacuum which is suppliedby a low pressure positive displacementblower. The system includes a vacuum pickupnozzle, vacuum conveying line, a vacuum filterreceiver, a rotary airlock feeder and a positivedisplacement blower.

Typical conveying velocities are 300 to 1000 feetper minute (1.5 m to 5 m/sec) and vacuum convey-ing pressures of up to 29 inches (737 mm) ofmercury (hg).
The material is fed into the conveying line on acontinuous basis by vacuum which is supplied by ahigh pressure vacuum pump. The system includesa vacuum pickup nozzle, a vacuum conveying line,a vacuum/filter receiver, a secondary filter and avacuum pump. For continuous conveying applica-tions, a gatelock hopper with an inlet and outletvalve is installed at the discharge of the vacuumreceiver.

DC-5 Air Saver technol-ogy is used to minimize and optimize the pressuresupply air which is supplied by a high pressurevacuum pump. The system includes a vacuum pickupnozzle, a vacuum conveying line, DC-5 Air Savercontrols, a vacuum filter receiver, a secondary filterand a vacuum pump. For continuous conveyingapplications, a gatelock hopper with an inlet andoutlet valve is installed at the discharge of thevacuum receiver.
