EXISTING FLOOR DRAINSAND CLEANOUTS ARE TO REMAIN UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.PIPING REMOVED FROM THE EXISTING PLUMBING SYSTEM SHALLNOT BE USED IN THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW SYSTEM.

IN ALL AREAS WHERE PATCHING IS REQUIRED, THE PLUMBINGCONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH THE SUB-SURFACE WHERE THE NEWSURFACE IS TO BE FINISHED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR. THISSUB-SURFACE MUST BE PROVIDED SO THAT IS DOES NOT INHIBITTHE INSTALLATION OF OR AFFECT THE APPEARANCE OF THE NEWFINISH. 2. THE PLUMBING DRAWINGS SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS BEING DIAGRAMMATIC AND ARENOT TO BE SCALED FOR THE ACCURATE CUTTING OF PIPE OR ITS EXACT PLACEMENT,BUT THEY SHALL BE FOLLOWED AS CLOSELY AS ACTUAL BUILDING CONSTRUCTIONAND THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES WILL PERMIT. BEFORE ANY PIPING IS INSTALLED,CONFER WITH ALL OTHER CONTRACTORS IN ORDER TO ESTABLISH THE LOCATIONS OFTHEIR PIPING, CONDUIT, DUCTWORK, GRILLES, FOUNDATIONS, STRUCTURAL STEEL,LIGHTING FIXTURES AND OTHER EQUIPMENT SO AS TO AVOID INTERFERENCE.FAILURE TO COORDINATE SHALL NOT RESULT IN ANY ADDITIONAL EXPENSE TO THEOWNER.

3. LOCATIONS OF EXISTING PIPING ARE TAKEN FROM EXISTING RECORD DRAWINGS.VERIFY THE EXACT LOCATION OF ALL EXISTING LINES AND ALL INVERTS PRIOR TO THEINSTALLATION OF ANY NEW PIPING.

4. ALL FIXTURES SHALL BE COMPLETE AND INCLUDE SUPPLIES, STOPS, VALVES,FAUCETS, DRAINS, TRAPS, TAILPIECES, ESCUTCHEONS, ETC. TRAPS FOR ALLLAVATORIES AND SINKS SHALL BE REMOVABLE. LOCATE VALVES IN A READILYACCESSIBLE LOCATION. ALL EXPOSED WASTE AND SUPPLY PIPING LOCATED INFINISHED AREAS SHALL BE CHROME PLATED BRASS.

5. REFER TO THE RISER DIAGRAMS FOR ALL PIPE SIZES AND PIPING NOT SHOWN ON THEPLANS. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE ON THE DRAWINGS, ALL WASTE PIPING BELOWGRADE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 2" IN SIZE.

6. ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE NEW AND SHALL FIT THE SPACE AVAILABLE. VERIFYDIMENSIONS AT SITE.

7. ALL PIPING, APPARATUS, EQUIPMENT, ETC. SHALL BE PROPERLY SUPPORTED, BRACEDVERTICALLY AND HORIZONTALLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE CODES AND ASREQUIRED TO PREVENT EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT DURING SEISMIC CONDITIONS.

8. REMOVE EXISTING CEILING TILES AND GRID OR PORTION OF EXISTING PLASTER ORGYPSUM BOARD AS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN ACCESS TO CEILING SPACE TOACCOMPLISH INDICATED PLUMBING WORK, UNLESS SPECIFICALLY INDICATEDOTHERWISE. PROVIDE ADDITIONAL TEMPORARY HANGERS/CABLES REQUIRED TOSUPPORT REMAINING CEILING, LIGHT FIXTURES, DEVICES, ETC. STORE EXISTINGCEILING TILES AND GRID IN A SAFE LOCATION AND RE-INSTALL ONCE THE WORK ISCOMPLETED. REPLACE DAMAGED TILES AND GRID WITH NEW TO MATCH EXISTING.PATCH/REPLACE DAMAGED PORTION OF PLASTER OR GYPSUM BOARD AND PAINT TOMATCH EXISTING. REMOVE ALL TEMPORARY FACILITIES ONCE THE WORK ISCOMPLETED. REFER TO THE ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS FOR FINISH TREATMENT OFSPACES.

9. ALL VALVES, CLEANOUTS, ETC., SHALL BE LOCATED AND INSTALLED TO PERMITACCESS FOR SERVICE WITHOUT DAMAGE TO BUILDING OR FINISHED MATERIALS.

10. PROVIDE CLEANOUTS ON ALL ACCESSIBLE TRAPS, AT THE BASE OF ALL SOIL/WASTESTACKS AND RAINWATER CONDUCTORS, AT EACH CHANGE OF DIRECTION OF PIPINGGREATER THAN 45 DEGREES AND LOCATED AT INTERVALS NOT TO EXCEED THEMAXIMUM PERMITTED BY THE APPLICABLE PLUMBING CODE AND AS INDICATED ONTHE DRAWINGS.

11. STERILIZE NEW DOMESTIC WATER PIPING AND PORTIONS OF THE EXISTING PIPINGTHAT HAVE BEEN ALTERED, EXTENDED, OR REPAIRED PRIOR TO USING. COMPLY WITHPURGING AND DISINFECTING PROCEDURES PRESCRIBED BY AUTHORITIES HAVINGJURISDICTION OR, IN THE ABSENCE OF PRESCRIBED METHOD, THE PROCEDURESDESCRIBED IN EITHER AWWA C651 OR AWWA C652, OR AS DESCRIBED IN THEAPPLICABLE PLUMBING CODE. FURNISH STERILIZATION REPORT TO ENGINEER UPONCOMPLETION.

12. ALL DOMESTIC WATER PIPING SHALL BE HUNG LEVEL WITHOUT PITCH.

13. COPPER PIPING SHALL BE PROTECTED AGAINST CONTACT WITH DISSIMILAR METALS.ALL HANGERS, SUPPORTS, ANCHORS, AND CLIPS SHALL BE COPPER OR COPPERPLATED. WHERE COPPER PIPING IS CARRIED ON IRON TRAPEZE HANGERS WITHOTHER PIPING, SATISFACTORY AND PERMANENT ELECTROLYTIC ISOLATION MATERIALSHALL PREVENT CONTACT WITH OTHER METALS.
