I mentioned last month that I was getting back into gardening. Ididnt realize how much I missed it until I started digging in the
soil. For the rst time, Im growing asparagus. I love the anticipa-
tion o going out to see how many spears I get to harvest every
other day or so.
Im also growing golden raspberriesitll probably be a month until
theyll be ready. Golden raspberries are as sweet as candy. You
never see them in the store because theyre very delicate. They
crumble as you pick them o the plantwhich is ne by me, be-
cause Im eating as I go!
Im already getting strawberries. For a minute there, it looked as
i my strawberry plants had tuckered out, but they have revived
nicely. I planted a ew squash seeds and the little plants have
poked their way out o the soil and are already a ew inches tall.
Publishers pitch
This is the year Im getting my health backnot that Ive been sickIts just that Iwearent getting any younger and nows a good
time to examine how were eating and how were living. I bought
one o those NutriBullet superood nutrition Extractors. Its more
than just a juicer. Ater loading the cup with greens and ruits, you
can actually add nuts (peanuts, almonds, etc) or protein. They
get pulverized and liquied, and they taste oh so good.
The birds are singing as I type this. I wish I could identiy the vari-
ous types o birds by their songs, but I do enjoy listening to their
happy tunes. The temperature is pleasant, the air smells reshand clean, fowers are blooming, and I can tell this is going to be a
good spring and summer.

This CD of quiet, thoughtful folk/acoustic music explores
the time of year were just now emerging from. Theliner notes explain: Deep December dreams draws itsstrength from the notion that from the depths and dark-ness of winter the earth has already turned its gaze tosummer. Here are some stories, myths, confessions, anddreams to make those long nights pass more quickly.
The harmonies are ethereal, the guitars are clear andsoothing, and when the music is over, the notes hang inthe air and fall softly to the ground like snowakes.
