This was a very important moment as these students have been selected to lead our school. Leaders at Dungay PS play a vital role ensuring our school runs smoothly, harmoniously and effecvely. Leaders are expected to aend all outer school engagements and demonstrate the five keys to success to the best of their ability. LIFE EDUCATION The Life Educaon Van will be vising our school tomorrow Tuesday 14 February. Please note that children cannot aend unless they have a signed permission note. The Dungay playgroup is an excellent way for like- minded parents and their adorable jarjums to connect and be supported in a relaxed and nurturing environment. Thank you to all the wonderful parents who attended playgroup on Thursday. What a gorgeous group of children you have. I loved meeting you all and was blown away by the fun and engaging activities on offer. Special thanks to Kim Baker and the parents who helped set up on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Next playgroup will be on Thursday 16 February from 9.30am.

SMALL SCHOOLS SWIMMING CARNIVAL Last Thursday a group of students represented our school at the small schools swimming carnival. All students displayed confidence, persistence and belief to swim their best. Congratulations to the following students who will now represent our school at the Murwillumbah District Carnival.

DISTRICT CRICKET TRIALS Last Monday Reece and Luke Carroll represented Dungay PS at the district cricket trials at Tweed Heads. Out of 24 students who attended the trials, Luke and Reece were successful in making the 12 boy squad which advances to the Far North Coast trials.

Dungay P&C News

P&C AGM MEETING

Please join us for our first meeting for 2017 and AGM TONIGHT FROM 6PM. The meeting will be in the 4/5/6J (Mr Stephens) classroom. Everyone is welcome, please come along and make our new Principal, Josh welcome.

The purpose of the P&C is to work closely with the Principal and teachers, providing supplemental income to the school by way of business initiatives and fundraising activi-ties held throughout each school year, and actively assisting the school with the numer-ous projects through its voluntary resources.

Next Monday 20 February Order forms for individual packages are with today’s newsletter. If you require a family/sibling photo these envelopes are available at the office.

Please return all orders to school by this Friday. NOTE: Please follow the instructions on the envelopes regarding payment. The school does not process any payments for photo orders so we are unable to accept cheques or direct deposits.

CONSTRUCTION WITH 2/3/4S

This term 2/3/4S are in need of clean boxes of various sizes, tubes (not toilet rolls), trays, plastic bottles and containers, etc. Anything you think that may be useful for construction.

We are doing a research and construct unit in Science and will need a number of these items for each student to use. Please send them to our classroom. Thank you for your assistance, it will be a fun and active learning time!

MONSTER BOOK STALL

Raising funds for Medical Research

Murwillumbah Lions Club regrets that the next book stall will be the last. All unsold books will be sent for recycling. Please take advantage of this last opportunity to purchase the cheapest books in town.

Outlets for second-hand books are welcome to make a donation and take books by the box load.

HEAD LICE ALERT With the weather really warming up, head lice are flourishing. Guideline are that if your child has headlice they must be treated before commencing back at school. Also it would be good practice to treat the whole family as well as bedding, hats etc.

There is to be no sharing of hats at school.
