DRUMHELLERBUSINESSANDCOMMUNITYPROFILE

The rich, rolling farmlands suddenlybreak away to reveal an astonishing, twisting, turning canyon, walled withmulti-colored layers of sandstone, mudstone and coal alternating withshale sequences. The rock layersdate back to the Late CretaceousPeriod, just before the demise of thedinosaurs. Drumheller is located inthe Heart of the Canadian Badlands. We are one the few areas in theworld where the sedimentary layersfrom earlier time periods have beenscraped off by natural processes, exposing a rich cache of fossils andeven complete dinosaur skeletons.

Drumheller is a favorite destination forover 500,000 visitors each year. Wehave over 50 attractions locatedwithin a 100 square kilometre area.

Today, the economy of Drumheller isfuelled by its booming tourism sector, vast agricultural industry, and large
