DUBAI BASED ENTREPRENEUR GAINS RECOGNITION AS AMONG WORLD’S 50

MOST IMPACTFUL SOCIAL INNOVATORS

World CSR Day awards top leaders in sustainability, innovation and smart cities

Dubai, UAE (29 February 2016) – Founder of Stationery, Inc., serial entrepreneur, mentor and

social innovator Walied Albasheer has been presented with a citation for 50 Most Impactful Social

Innovators (Global Listing) at the recent World CSR Day held in Taj Land End, Mumbai, India.

Social innovations that change lives

Walied Albasheer’s fifth and latest venture is Stationery, Inc., an online store of school supplies.

The company was created in line with Walied Albasheer’s commitment to bridging the gap in

technology and innovation between the region and other developed countries.

Focusing on socially innovative business models, he has tackled the issue of sourcing school

supplies for students through Stationery, Inc. online market place brining more convenience,

availability and value by incorporating technology to an out dated market.

Since 2004, the Walied Albasheer has innovated with moderate supportive ecosystem, recognizing

the value entrepreneurs are getting now through official support, incubators, accelerators,

communicates, and hackathons.

In 2013, he launched Intrack.co, the first driver’s behavior management solution in the region. The

project allowed its clients more than 50% savings in carbon fuel footprint while running their fleets

safer and environmental friendly.

“When you share, you get a lot more”

It was in 1995 in Pune, India when Walied Albasheer was advised by a colleague to check

“Something called the Internet”. Since then, he has believed on the social innovation the Internet

will bring to the world.

“Coming back to India after 20 years for such a global recognition is such a humbling and a life

changing experience,” he said.

For Walied Albasheer, entrepreneurs have to face limited resources when starting a new venture.

However, “when you share, you get a lot more,” he said.

He has been contributing back to fellow and aspiring entrepreneurs in order to have a supportive

eco system in Dubai, UAE and the region.
