RUGGED METAL ENCLOSUREThe TwoView 2 Vertical’s electronics (dual displays, industrial-grade keyboard/trackball and video controller) are mounted in a rugged, powder coated, aluminum enclosure, ideal for demanding industrial, as well as limited military, applications. The low-profile (2U) drawer mounts to industry standard 19" rack chassis and transit cases via mechanical slides. When stowed, the dual displays hinge down and over the keyboard/trackball and are secured to the chassis with captive hardware. To operate, the captive fasteners are unscrewed and the drawer is slid forward into its extended/operating position. The displays are unfolded upwards to expose both panels. The TwoView 2 enclosure is more economical—though still robust—than the first generation TwoView, due to configuration restrictions and design differences, and occupies less rack depth.

VIDEO CONTROLLERThe TwoView 2 Vertical video controllers support VGA, DVI-D, HDMI, S-Video, and NTSC video inputs. Many resolutions are available up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz. Advanced features available are memory buffering, auto scaling to fit screen, auto scaling to fit aspect ratio, and more.

LCD DISPLAY/LED BACKLIGHTThe LED-backlit displays offer a range of performance for indoor and outdoor environments alike. Luminance values reach up to 1,000 nits. Optional night vision goggle (NVG)-compatible displays that are compliant to MIL-STD-3009 are available.

AMBIENT LIGHT SENSOR (OPTIONAL)For monitors configured with a General Digital LED controller, an optional ambient light sensor can be integrated, which allows the backlight to automatically adjust to changing ambient lighting conditions, thereby ensuring optimal brightness, power performance, and extending the life of the LEDs. The auto-dimming firmware on the LED controller can be tailored by our Software Engineers to meet a customer’s specific requirements.

LED CONTROLLER/TEMPERATURE SENSORSBy default, the displays’ LED backlights are controlled by an OEM LED controller. Alternatively, they can be paired with General Digital’s own industrial-grade LED controller, which offers several advantages, such as a wider dimming range (from full-on to full-off), custom dimming profile firmware (to be used in conjunction with the optional ambient light sensor), and extended operating temperature range.In addition, the LED controller can communicate with internal thermal sensors to provide a soft-failure algorithm to reduce brightness/power consumption to counteract any over-temperature conditions that might be experienced due to exposure to extreme ambient temperature or solar loading.

KEYBOARD/TRACKBALLThe TwoView 2 Vertical is equipped with either a USB or PS2 keyboard, with a built-in trackball. The ultra-slim nature of the industrial-grade keyboard allows both displays to be folded over the keyboard when stowed (rather than behind the keyboard, as on the first generation TwoView), thereby conserving valuable rack depth.
