Our top choice in the dual system range of baby video monitors is the Summer Infant Complete Coverage Baby Video Monitor Set, itstands out as superior in its quality and technology transmitting at 900Mhz frequency providing superior clarity and 350' range with 2 channel selections to minimize the chance of interference. This dual baby video monitor set is unique in its look, the 7" LCD color flat screen has a built in handle, tilt feature and swivel design which accommodates multiple angles.A second handheld color video monitor with 1.8" screen is included making it more convenient and portable for parents. The majority of parents agree that the Summer Infant Complete Coverage Set is one of the very best dual system baby video monitors available today with an excellent, average customer rating of 4.5 out of 5. Picture Quality: The quality of the color video picture is very clear at all times, including night vision (black & white which is standard), you will be able to clearly see your baby at night without any light on in the nursery, the infrared night vision is much clearer than what you would be able to see with your own eyes. The handheld unit can be connected to a television giving another large image of your baby, or use the picture in picture function if your TV has this feature, and monitor your child while watching TV. It's a great advantage having both the 7" LCD display and the handheld unit which allows 2 people to see their baby whilst in separate locations, e.g. upstairs and downstairs, or out in the garage with the other unit in the house. Audio Quality and Reception: The sound is very clear, occasionally static has been noticed, however this is usually rectified by simply moving the position of the monitor or changing the channel selector. Computers and cordless phones don't cause interference in reception because they operate on a different frequency. Other Features: The rechargeable battery of the handheld unit lasts a long time depending on whether it's set on Audio only mode, or Audio and Video mode. However a small disadvantage with the batteries is that they are NiCad batteries which can have memory effect issues if you don't allow them to completely discharge before recharging them. The handheld unit when not connected to AC power will go into sleep mode after a few minutes for the video function, audio remains active, to re-activate simply press a button on top of the handheld unit. Overall, the Summer Infant Complete Coverage Color Baby Video Monitor Set with 7" LCD and 1.8" Handheld Unit is our best choice of the few duel system baby video monitors available, it's highly recommended byparents who use this system, 4.5 out of 5. The couple of disadvantages are minor compared to the benefits experienced by parents concerned about the safety and well being of their baby, they ultimately want the best baby video monitor set available. Turk II:February 14, 2012 at 7:13 pmAre there any dual camera baby monitors? We use a simple wireless video monitor to keep tabs on my 2 year old son while he’snapping and sleeping. Eventually he’ll have a little bro or sis that we’ll also want to keep tabs on.Are there any baby monitors that incorporate two cameras viewable on one remote monitor?Reply

Anonymous:March 14, 2012 at 8:04 pmThe one from Summer does. You can put one video on A and the other on B.Then on the monitor you can switch from viewing A or B. I figured this out whenmy SIL came for a visit and brought her video monitor. We had my daughter on video Aand her son on B.Reply

Isabelle:February 16, 2012 at 5:01 pmBaby monitors? Can you recommend one?Looking for a dual unit that has no static. Don’t want a cheap one – just one with NOstatic. Thx.Reply

leslie:April 17, 2012 at 1:52 pmFisher Price worked well for us. Price was in the $60′s. No static whatsoever.Reply

Mom G:February 29, 2012 at 11:35 amIs there a dual video baby monitor for twins who will be in separate rooms?I want a video monitor that shows both cribs/rooms at the same time. Does somethinglike this exist?actually, it’s not really twins…more like Irish Twins. Basically a 1 year old and newborn. I just put“twins” to make it easy…less to explain but it didn’t work!Reply

Jan M:May 28, 2012 at 3:56 amyou can use any monitor, just buy two, set them on the same channel and thereyou go. It happens in apartments all the time, your baby is sleeping and youhear crying over the monitor and it turns out to be the baby a few doors down, that’s whythey have different channels.Reply

Nathaniel's Mommy w/ #2 on the way!:March 29, 2012 at 2:35 amMultiple Children / Multiple Baby Monitors? My son is 2.5 years old and we still use a Video Baby Monitor in his room. I am due in Maywith my 2nd child and will also need a Video Baby Monitor in the babies room.My question is.. If I get 2 similar systems, will the channels interfere with each other? Is there abrand that makes Dual Camera systems?Parents that have run into this situation… what did you do?I’m not comfortable with not having a monitor in my older son’s room just yet…. so I really will needtwo. Thanks for your help!Yeah, I know he will be fine… but I’m not ready yet.So if you are going to answer my Q, then please answer it… I don’t need to hear all the other crap.Thanks.Reply

NewMomma:May 25, 2012 at 11:04 amNeither of my kids were okay with opened door check ups, ever, if we openedthe door to see if they were ok, they woke up and refused to go back to sleep.Add to that that we can’t even hear the doorbell or phone while in the basement, well, monitors are a necessity and we went with video monitors so we didn’t end up waking thekids all the time instead of just checking on them. My son has a sleep disorder so therewas no way I wanted to interrupt his sleep if I could help it. He was 21 months when hissister was born so what we did is buy two of the basic Safety 1st video monitors. I puteach kid on a different channel. I mainly monitored the baby, but if I heard something frommy son, I could switch channels and see if I needed to go in to him or if everything was

Page 4: Dual Baby Monitor.pdf

my son, I could switch channels and see if I needed to go in to him or if everything wasokay. If I needed full-time monitoring of my son, say if we were watching a movie in thebasement, I put on a voice only monitor I had for him — whatever the cheapest fisherprice one is — but I could still look at him if I needed to by flipping channels. It worked fineat the same time as the video ones. It sounds really complicated but it worked out well forus. As for dual monitoring video ones — I couldn’t find one that worked the way I needed it towork — thus the above. They have dual systems that will monitor more than one room ata time but you’re only able to keep the receiver end on one room. Basically, doing what wedid above, but I think the way we did it ended up being less expensive (I think the dualsystem was like $250).You can’t run two videos in the same room at the same time, even on different channels,as they do interfere and you either get static or screaming. At least the ones we tried did.Reply

Anonymous:April 19, 2012 at 9:33 pmWould this be an okay 5.1 speaker set up?This is…well gonna sound pretty rediculous at the moment, bare with me its onlytemporary. So i am getting a Asus 7.1 DX sound card, should be here in the next day or two. I wouldlike some sort of surround sound with this new baby right? well this is what i got.a set of 2.1 channel speakersa set of stereo speakers and my monitors speakers, which have dual speakers in them. so uhh myquestions…. can i make it 5.1? lollets say i use the 2.1 for front and bass, the stereos for side and the monitors for centers? would itwork or no?Would it be better just to keep with 4.1 using the 2 speaker sets and not the monitor? i dunno whatto do lol.here are some facts, the the 2.1 speakers the right and left are connect to a single stereo wire andthe sub connects into the right speaker so it can be taken out into another port, the stereo speakersare connected and my monitor is stereo speakers just have to plug in a male to male stereo plug.Okay let me here your critiscism about how i have the crappiest set up..Yes i will hopefully getting a set of actual surround sound speakers soon. i just wanna try this withwhat i haveReply

TV guy:May 16, 2012 at 4:20 pmIf all the speakers are self-powered (with built-in amp), yes. The card hasindividual outputs.Reply

Laurie M:April 24, 2012 at 9:55 amHelp with dual baby monitors for 2 children.?I need to monitor 2 children and am having trouble finding two monitors that worktogether. We have a Graco from our first baby. I bought a Fisher Price for baby #2 and there was lotsof interference even with them on two different channels. We tried a second graco, but theinterference was even worse. I tried one of the digital that monitors 2 rooms at the same time, but Idon’t like that it toggles back and forth between the rooms. (Ok, so I’m a little hyper about hearingeverything, but that’s a discussion for another day!) Has anyone had any luck running two monitorsat the same time?? Thank you for any help you can give.LaurieReply

Becky M:May 7, 2012 at 12:50 amI have the same problem. I have a blue and white saftey firsrt in my sons roomand a fisher price sounds and lights in my daughters. There is a little static, butnot much. I hope this was helpful.Reply

Anonymous:April 24, 2012 at 12:30 pmDual Child/room unit baby monitors or other options ?Hi,Does anyone know of any dual Child/room baby monitors on the market (reasonable cost). I havefound lots of ones with dual parent units but thats not what I want. Also another option would be to buy a single unit different (presume diff frequency) so we can have2 complete units running at the same time. At the moment we have a tomy walkabout babyadvance.I’d be very interested to hear from people who may be running 2 seperate units including one of theabove.RegardsDaleReply

April 29, 2012 at 11:36 amDoes anyone have a Safety First Digital Monitor with Dual Receivers that they would liketo sell? Thanks. We have been looking for this particular monitor and cannot find it anywhere. It is listed with BabiesR Us but has been discontinued. If anyone knows where we could get a hold of one and they wouldlike to sell theirs, we would be very interested. Thank you in advance.Reply

collierfamily243:May 8, 2012 at 5:27 amHave you tried this Baby Monitor?I was wondering if anyone has used a Fisher Price Sounds n’ Lights Monitor with DualReceivers??? My grandpa is very hard of hearing, and we were wondering if anyone thinks it will beloud enough for him to hear my gma (they sleep in seperate rooms) if she needs help in the middleof the night. She fell out of bed once and had to wait until morning to shine a flash light through amirror to get his attentions across the apartment!!! (they’re in an assisted living facility, but if no oneknows she needs help….so please don’t tell me its time for a nursing home)Reply

Shut up Obber!!!!:May 27, 2012 at 6:17 amSpend more money on a better-quality monitor. We have one and it’s okaybecause we only use it for brief periods here and there; if it was on all the time Iwould’ve thrown it out in a rage long ago.It is very static-y, prone to picking up other people’s conversations and radio and so on,and generally kinda cheap.Turned up loud enough to hear your Grandma, he will also be getting a boatload of staticmuch of the time.Note the less-than-glowing reviews on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Sounds-N-Lights-Monitor/dp/B0009T2CB2One thing about it that I find sucks is that the button to turn it on is something you canpress and think you’ve turned it on, but sometimes it turns out that you needed to press ita bit harder. It’s fiddly and irritating and, given its purpose, not terribly safe; there shouldbe no ambiguity about turning a baby monitor on or off.Consider this one: http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Avent-SCD-589-Zero-Interference/dp/B000I1Z04CReply

Lacclolith:May 9, 2012 at 4:03 amYeah, your system can easily handle multiple monitors. My 1.8GHz C2D with annVidia 7900GS runs two 21″ monitors with no problems at all. I use it to runAutoCAD and such.Going to the C2D Quad isn’t going to really increase your dual screen performance. Stickto what you’ve got and save your money for the moment.Reply

Jessica:May 30, 2012 at 8:49 pmDo they make anything like this?We are moving into a new house this weekend, and my son will have a playroom in thebasement, and the computer/book room will be in the upstairs. I want to have baby monitors in bothareas so in case im on the main floor, or upstairs while he is down, etc, i can make sure everythingis ok (he’s almost 5 so he’s old enough to play by himself for awhile). I havent shopped for babymonitors in years, so i dont know what they have these days. Do they have anything with 2transmitters? Like so i can have one upstairs, and one down…and then the one receiver to hearboth places? Or would i have to get 2 seperate monitors? I tried looking on some baby shoppingwebpages, but i dont understand what they mean when they say dual this and two of that…im nottechnically inclined. You ever heard of anything like this?Reply
