‘Dua-e-Sanam-e-Quraish’

Introduction & Merits of Recitation

The prayer of Sanam-e-Quraish (the idols of Quraish) is a very authentic supplication of Amir-ul-Momineen Moulanaasws Ali bin Abi Talibasws and it has been recognised by all renowned Shia historians as such.

It has been narrated by Abdullah bin Abbas that one night I went to the Masjid-e-Nabbivisaww to offer my late-night prayers and saw Amir-ul-Momineenasws offering hisasws supplications. I decided to sit in a corner and listen to Mola Aliasws’s recitation of Quran and prayers. After completing Salat ( late night prayers, shafa and witr) , Molaasws recited supplications which I had never heard before. Later, I approached Imam Aliasws and said may I be yourasws ransom; please tell me more about those prayers which I have never heard before.

Mola Aliasws then replied, it was ‘Dua-e-Sanam-e-Quraish’ and added, I swear to Allahazwj who owns the lives of Mohammadsaww and Aliasws, whosoever would recite this prayer will get an extra-ordinary reward from Allahazwj; similar to assisting Prophet Mohammadsaww during the battles of ‘Ohad, Badar, Hunain and Tabuuq’ and would achieve the martyred status in the presence of the Prophetsaww. And the reward of 100 Hajj and Umara as an associate of Prophet Mohammadsaww as well as ‘Sawab’ of 1000 months of fasting. In addition, one will be on the side of Rasool-Allahsaww and Aimah Masomeenasws on the Day of Judgement and Allahazwj will Forgive all his/her sins, despite the fact if his/her had committed sins are equivalent to the stars in the sky, grains of sand in the wilderness and leaves of all trees. Also the one who recites it will be saved from punishment in the grave, and a window from heaven will be installed in his/her grave.

Insha-Allah, prayers will be rewarded, through the sanctity of the supplication, and O! Ibn e Abbas if any of our friends is, in particular, engulfed by hardship, he/she would surely find a refuge through recitation of this prayer.

“He who recites this Du’a is (in terms of reward) like a marksman who have shot 1000 arrows in the battle of Badr and Uhud beside the Prophetsaww.”

Our Allahazwj! Send Yourazwj blessings and salutations to Mohammedsaww and descendents of Mohammedsaww. And curse the two idols of Quraish

رتمح اہلل اے انزل رفام دمحم رپ وتبں دوونں رپ اور تنعل رک رقشی ےک اور آل دمحم

ها و ها و جب ت ي ها و طاغوت ي اب نت ي هما و اب ن ي هما و إف كي

And their two magicians and their two rebellious people and their two accusers and their two sons and their two daughters.

رپ اور ویٹیبں دوونں ےک وٹیبں واولں رپ اور ازلام رتاےنش اور اجدورگوں رپ اور دوونں ابیغ اطیشونں رپ دوونں اور

Who discarded Yourazwj Commands, and denied Yourazwj Revelation, and rejected Yourazwj Blessings, and disobeyed

Those who love them, as they have ruined the house of Prophet-hood, and brought down its door, and tore down its roof, and

Brought down its elevated ceiling to its ground, and its height to a lower status and its exterior to its interior, and

Destroyed Yourazwj ‘selected’ inhabitants, and exiled their helpers, and martyred their children and confiscated the pulpit

From the successor (of the Prophetsaww) and heir of his (Prophetsaww’s) Divine Knowledge, and negated the righteous leadership (Imamate) and ascribed a partner to their Lordazwj.

اسھت رشک ایک ملع ےک وارث ےس اور اس یک اامتم اک ااکنر ایک اور ان دوونں ےن اےنپ رب ےک اس ےک ویص اور اےکس

ت ب قي ل سقر ما أد راك ما و سقر في خلدهما و ذن ب هما ف عظم

Thus, consider their sins to be absolutely unforgivable, and make them reside in 'Saqar' forever, and Youazwj know what 'Saqar does to its inhabitants! 'It neither lets them live,

All the pulpit which they forcibly occupied, and the believers whom they have hurt and the hypocrites whom they have rewarded, and for the pious whom they have troubled, and

For the rejected one in exile whom they brought back, and for the true one whom they drove out of the city, and their support for the disbelievers, and their atrocities towards

The obligatory laws that they changed, and for refuting the Divine Signs, and for spreading and authorising vice, and the blood which they have shed, and the goodness,

For consuming the prohibited wealth, and that 'Khums' (the fifth part) which they considered as lawful for themselves, and those evils which they planted, and that cruelty

اور ملظ و ور ےک وعض دای اور ابلط ےک وعض یکسج اینبد ریھک الحل رقار )اےنپ ےیل (

Which they regularly practised, and that hypocrisy which they had concealed in their hearts, and the amount of treachery which they bore in their hearts, and that oppression

which they spread, and those promises,

Which they dishonoured, and the trust which they abused, and those covenant which they broke, and those lawful matters which were reverted to be unlawful, and those forbidden

Which they made to be lawful, and that atrocity which targeted at stomach (Masoomaasws’s body) and fractured herasws rib-bones, and, as a result of which (Hazrat e Mohsinasws) was

martyred, that 'pahlu' (closeness to Allahazwj)

Which they disrespected, and the Prophetsaww’s writing that they shredded, and those gatherings (of the righteous) which they dispersed, and those honourables who were

dishonoured, and those degraded ones who were praised, and the rights

They usurped, and the covering up of their lies, and for the altering of the Commands. Our Allahazwj! Send Yourazwj curses on them for the all the Quranic Verses that they

من عوها رسوم و غي روها ة سن و ت ركوها فريضة و حرفوها

Altered and the obligations which they abandoned, and the traditions they distorted, and the Divine customs they forbade,

)قح( نج ںیم یرحف یک یئگ اور رفاضئ ںیھنج رتک رک دای ایگ اور امتم ںیتنس

نج وک عنم رکدای ایگ )قح( م امتم روس وہ اور ریغتم ایک ںیھنج

كام و عة و عطلوها أح ب ي نة و أب طلوها دع وى و نكسوها ب ي

And the Commands which they suspended, and the refusal of their allegiances and those claims (by the righteous) which were negated, and those proofs (evidences)

اور وہ واحض وبثت وہ دوعی قح ےسج ابلط رقار دای اور ےسج الھب ڈاال تعیب وہ اور لطعم رک دای ںیھنج)قح( ااکحم وہ امتم اور

دثوها حيلة و أن كروها ها عقبة و أو ردوها خيانة و أح ار ت قو

Which were rejected, and those excuses which they fabricated, and their dishonesty and breach of trust, (their acts of) climbing on the hill (for their lives),

ایختن و ربیت یئگ اور وہ اہپڑی سج رپ ہی اجن اچبےن ےک ےیل ڑچھ ےئگ نج اک ااکنر ایک اور وہ ےلیح اہبےن و رتاےش ےئگ اور وہ

رج دباب و و كتموها شهادات و لزموها أز ياف و وهادح

And those fixed rules which they changed and all the defects which they promoted, and those testimonies (three or more) which they had terminated, and

اور ںیھنج اپھچای ایگ وہ اہشدات اور ر ایک وہ یجک ےسج اایتخ اور نیعم راںیہ ںیھنج وھچڑ دای ایگ اور وہ

The testament, which they destroyed. Our Allahazwj curse those two, secretly as well as openly,

تنعل رک وپدیشہ و در رپدہ ان دوونں رپ اے اہلل ےسج اضعئ رک دای ایگ۔ وتیص وہ

و لمده ان قطاع ل سر مدا دائبا دائما أبدا كثيرا لع نا ال علنية

Curse immeasurably, persistently, without an end and innumerable times. Curses for a limitless duration, and

وہ )ہشیمہ رےنہ وایل( دایمئ وہ )لقتسم( ادبی )امشیبر(وہ العہین وطر رپ ، ایسی تنعل و ریثکاور اظرہ و ا

)ایسی تنعل یکسج ددت متخ ہن وہ( وایل وہ، ہن رےنک وہ اگلاتر

و لهم آخره ي روح ل و أوله ي غ دو لع نا لعدده ن فاد ل

For unlimited number of times and without any bounds. A curse that commences from the first one and still continues after the last one of them, and

اور وہ ہن کت متخ یاور آرخ اول وک ریھگے و تنعل ےننگ ںیم ہن آےئ، ایسی دعد اکسج اور

لهم ال مسل مين و واليهم م و محب يهم و أن صارهم و لع وانهم

(Same sort of curse) on their helpers, and their associates, and their lovers, and their friends and their Muslimeen (submitters),

رپ املسمونں ا ےکاور ددداگروں رپ اور ا ےک اچےنہ واولں رپ اور ا ےک دووتسں رپ اور تنعل وہ ا ےک احویمں رپ

تجاجهم الناهضين و إلي هم ال مائلين و تدين و باح ال مق

And those who are inclined towards them and those who stand with them in their protests (against Divine Justice) and those who follow

Then recite four times-

ب هم اللهم تغيث عذابا عذ ل من ه يس ال عالمين رب آمين النار أه

Our Allahazwj! Send such a harsh chastisement upon them, that the dwellers of Hell start screaming for mercy. Amen, O Lordazwj of all Worlds.
