“DTB’s undeniable musicianship and tongue-in-cheek sense of humor puts them in a league of bands like Mr. Bungle, NOFX and GWAR.” -Skratch Magazine Culminating a perfect mixture of rock, metal, punk, funk and experimental, the shape-shifting entity known as DOWNTOWN BROWN has forged a diverse sound that is as fully developed as well as it is broadly enjoyable. DTB has hypnotized thousands with their highly entertaining live show, long pursuing a grassroots mission to unite the people of the world in an all-inclusive environment where FUN is priority number one. Their quest has hammered on since 2001, with numerous independent albums to boot – all of which garnered strong reviews from both international and local publications. 2002 marked the release of DTB’s first full-length album, ‘Moist and Ridiculous’ on Detroit-based indie label Static Records. Since, DTB has released a total of seven full-length cds, including four on the band’s own label Chocolate Stain Records. DTB adopted a rigid tour schedule early on, firmly establishing themselves first in the Midwest and then throughout the entire US through several self-booked national tours. These jaunts took them from coast to coast playing such notable venues as the Knitting Factory in NYC and the Viper Room in LA. The band was also personally invited by Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman to play multiple dates on both the ‘06 and ‘07 tours. In their travels, DTB has shared the stage with countless industry mainstays including Slightly Stoopid, Fishbone, Andrew W.K., Insane Clown Posse, The Presidents of the U.S.A., The Aquabats, Me First And The Gimme Gimmes, Wesley Willis and Dee Snider. DTB caught the ear of DC-Jam Records president Darron Hemann in 2010, and promptly signed a deal with the label to release their sixth cd, ‘Grabbleton’s Beach’. The album, which was mastered by Derek O‘Brien (Social Distortion, Adolescents) and features guests like Wax (Def Jam Records) among others, was released on NOV 13 th , 2010. 2011 saw the band on tour pretty much non-stop in promotion of ‘Grabbleton’s’, traveling coast to coast throughout the US and CANADA. In Dec of 2011, DTB re-signed with DC-Jam for the release of their 10 th Anniversary ‘Greatest Hits’ Collection. The album features 20 songs showcasing material from the band’s independent releases over the last decade. Having laid a solid groundwork through blood, sweat and years of tireless effort, 2012 is widely considered to be the year DOWNTOWN BROWN becomes a household name for music fans worldwide.
