Differential Leveling ProjectRon Gilmore

DT350Fall 2014

METHODOLOGYThe establishment of differences in

elevation between two or more points with respect to a given elevation.

Add readings from backsite to benchmark or known turning point elevations to get the elevation of the line of sight (instrument height). Subtract rod readings of the foresight from the line of sight (instrument height) to establish elevations of unknown points. Repeat for all points.

If done properly and accurately the final reading should match the given elevation.
