At the First BrainstormYou Told Us:

NEW DSG House Purpose The DSGHouse is a neighborhood hub with a purpose of providing space for the neighborhood members to gather and develop services that will support the growth of the community. A secondary function of the house will be as welcome center for the community where visitors of the community can come and learn about the neighborhood, about upcoming neighborhood events, community news and projects and even about property that is available in that area for purchase. A third function will be as a portal or middle ground for communities to have access to services. DSG will provide a space and platform for organizations and services to come into the neighborhoods, provides services to the neighborhoods and interact in the neighborhood in a way they could not have done if the house was not there. .

The 5 year goal is to create a network of homes that provide services resources and support that target the specific needs of the communities DSGHouse resides. To development otherwise abandoned/foreclosed homes into thriving parts of the community that will give people of the neighborhoods more pride about their community. Development of retail in the neighborhoods to support the needs of the community is also a phase of our five year plan.

Committees To complete the next steps of purchasing the home, financing the home

and providing services and events in the home, we need volunteers and commitment.

Committees

Fundraising Committee: This committee will take charge in developing fundraisers for DSGHouse as well as help find sponsors and partners that will support the development of the project. House and Neighborhood Service Committee: This committee will help select the proper house for DSG to purchase. This committee will also reach out to the community selected to find out what services are need in their area.
