spokesman Billion Lim to share his knowledge about Tamron lenses and advanced technology with 25 pax. The response was overwhelming and booking was full by the third day following the announcement. This clearly reveals that shutterbugs out there are eager to learn about the two new Tamron lenses featured in Billion's tutorial. The two star products of the day are Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 Di VC USD and Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD.

AN ASSIGNMENTWITHTAMRON 1

Poised in rich Chinese culture, four beautiful models put 100 budding photographers to the test during the first assignment with Tamron at the Olympic Sports Hotel in Kuala Lumpur recently. Dressed in stunning cheongsams with spectacular calligraphy writings in the background, the participants were pushed to the limits as they jostled to get the perfect shot. They also learned valuable tips on how to better their portrait photography from Steven Leong, who is the vice-president of the Photographic Society of Malaysia. About 200 pictures were later submitted leaving the judges with the painstaking task of selecting a winner. Judging was by by Dr Nick Ng, Billion Lim, Eric Cheong and witnessed by Rissa Chan, Sales Director of DSC World. The Champ- Alvin Lai from Malacca walked home with a RM1,000 cash prize sponsored by DSC World.

This latest introduction by Pentax boasts a positive retro design and comes equipped with a tilting LCD screen at the back. The camera’s 12 million pixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor is a new design from Sony. It also features 1 macro mode for shooting images close-up, while an intelligent zoom function is available to extend the zoom coverage to about 7.8 times. To go along with the retro design of the camera's exterior, the Pentax MX-1 features a textured rubber grip and brass top and bottom panels. Other interesting features of the Pentax MX-1 include its ability to capture photos in raw DNG format, rather than a proprietary format favoured by most of the other brands.
