DRY GRAD ANNOUNCEMENT From Your 2017 Grad Committee Chair & Dry Grad Committee

I would like to announce that your Dry Grad Committee has been working diligently to put together a fun filled Dry Grad event for you, our 2017 Westsyde Grads, to celebrate all of your achievements. There is no cost for these events due to the fundraising efforts from those participating grads/parents and the generous community support we have received.

Unfortunately we were unable to secure accommodations for the Cultus Lake overnight camping trip, initially planned, so a vote was taken at the last Grad Committee meeting, resulting in a decision to plan an ‘in-town’ event for our Dry Grad celebrations.

We are pleased to advise you of the ‘GRAD ONLY’ Itinerary for the Dry Grad events on June 23 & 24:

Friday, June 23, 2017 – Location: Dunes in Kamloops

There is no cost to grads for this event, but you must be a grad and must pre-register to confirm your attendance, prior to June 9, we require this to confirm our catering reservation for dinner. The Dry Grad sign-up sheets are at the school office. If you are ‘off site’ completing your school year, you can email or text Tracie or I, with all your registration details.

If you want to be one of the 20 participants on stage, in the comedic hypnotist show, add your name to that list as well. We will draw names on June 9, to determine the participants, we will post those selected on our website and Facebook page. Semi-casual dress (shorts/summer attire/comfort). Grads to arrange their own transportation to/from the venue.

7:00–7:45 pm Welcome & Social Reception – Appetizers and Social – DJ Music 7:45–9:00 pm Buffet Dinner, DJ Music 9:15–11:00 pm Casey ST Jones Comedic Hypnotist Show 11:00–11:30pm ‘Grad’ Prize Draws and Dessert 11:30–12:45 am Dance – Tony’s DJ Services 12:45 am Doors Close – Depart Dunes (pre-arrange your ride home)

If you happen to arrive late due to other commitments, please try to be at the venue prior to 9:15 show start time, to not disrupt the show. All cell phones must be turned off during the performance. Once you leave the sectioned off venue area, unfortunately we are unable to allow you back in.

Saturday, June 24, 2017 – Location: Kamloops Paintball Games (just before Harper Mtn, Paul Lk Rd) – GRADS ONLY.

10:00 – 11:00 am Meet @WSS –Load Buses – BUS LEAVES AT 11:00 AM SHARP! (Paintball Waivers must be received by JUNE 9 – The Paintball Waiver is your registration – waivers can be downloaded from the grad website, scanned and returned to Tracie or dropped off at the WSS school office; waiver attached. Grads must all travel to/from the event via bus provided. There will be a backpack check upon loading the buses. (Alternate travel arrangements must be pre-approved).

11:30 am – 12:30 pm Gear up (markers/masks, paint, coveralls, orientation, course layout, safety).

12:30 – 4:30 pm Continuous Paintball–tournament style play (6 teams of 15+, sign up date to be announced). Get Registered asap. Teams will each be assigned a ‘General’ from KAOS (Kamloops Paintball Games ‘elite’ players to help strategize. MVP’s, from each round, will form a team for the last game of the day against ‘KAOS’. Wear bagging clothes, it lessens the impact!!

Target Shooting – NO IMPACT for those not wanting to get hit. Open field area for badminton/volleyball, touch football; Yoga classes and more…BBQ – good eats all day around the campfire. BRING YOUR OWN LAWNCHAIR!! Enjoy a day in the sun.
