Coral Springs Connection Stories and Sights from Coral Springs, Florida
Drum student Joshua Boyd and instructor Jeremiah Jenner
Jeremiah Jenner teaches drumming at Ali Cultural Arts Center
Jeremiah Jenner has a real passion for drumming. He is drummer in the Rocker Locker band and has been playing the drums since he was five years old.
Jenner teaches drumming at the Ali Cultural Arts Center in Pompano Beach and is part of an education program there funded by the Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation. He believes drumming is a good activity for children and teenagers who need to burn off some energy. “Drumming helps focus their attention and builds their confidence. musicians and to have that magic spark. Ideally you can share your passion with the audience, so they feel that passion.”
Jenner hopes his students continue to pursue music and even become professionals. “I have some students who want to start their own rock band,” said Jenner. “I see them becoming fellow musicians. When I am teaching a class, I treat them as equal musicians.”
Jenner gives drumming lessons every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ali Cultural Arts Center.
