    MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND REINFORCEMENT All Hni drums have been carefully analysed and engineered with latest computer simulation technology adding to our decades of experience! These kind of simulations indicate clearly which parts need special reinforcement in order to resist the enormous additional torque forces of the NEW JUMBO drums

  • Particular attention has been paid to the dimensions and quality of construction materials and type of introduced reinforcements (more and stronger hoops for wooden drums, more and stronger reinforced bolts, special strengthening on of the drum bottom, higher material grades of casting components)

    Quality and structure of cast iron components (particularly crown wheel and cross)have been carefully analysed and dimensioned to be able to transmit the high torque factors. The complete transmission line (crown wheel and its teeth, pinion, gearbox, motor and brake) have been specially designed and reinforced compared to standard drums in order to give a long and maintenance free operation of the drums

  • POLYPROPYLENE (PPH) DRUMS By now Polypropylene material has been used for drums for over 15 years and hundreds of drums are working successfully in the market.

    We have already been using polypropylene material for preparation tanks for over 40 years and some of those tanks are still in use today. Mechanical properties and usage of PPH material show less consumption than wood, and some wooden drums are in operation for over 30 years

    ADVANTAGES OF HNI POLYPROPYLENE (PPH) DRUMS POLYPROPYLENE DRUM IS A POSITIVE MIX BETWEEN THE STAINLESS STEEL DRUM AND THE WOODEN DRUM, HAVING THE ADVANTAGE OF BOTH WITHOUT HAVING THEIR DISADVANTAGES.

  • Easy cleaning inside and outside of the drum, giving the advantage of using the same drum for different colours and application without restrictions as they exist in wooden drums

    Better thermal insulation compared to stainless steel drum and surprisingly also better compared to

    the wooden drum, thus better conditions for the process. Energy savings

    Chemical resistance of PPH is better compared to wood and stainless steel, thus opening areas of use for PPH where wooden and stainless steel drums would fail in short time. Mention here is made of the resistance to the following chemicals: hydrogen peroxide, caustic soda, sodium sulphide, organic acids, ammonia, chloric acid and sulphuric acid at highest concentrations!

    More internal volume and therefore more loading compared to wooden drums of the same external

    dimension, depending on drum dimensions (and therefore thickness of the wood) the volume of PPH drums is approximately 11-18% higher

    Lower weight and therefore less mechanical force on drive and foundation

    Lower price compared to quality stainless steel drums

    No need of swelling time compared to wooden drum, therefore PPH drums are ready for production

    in a few days after arrival.

    Easy repear in case of damages

    Any inside configuration (Standard, shelves, pegs, triplex drum, 2 compartment drums, JUMBO drum) is possible with the PPH drum.

  • Also the usage of material over time has been analysed and we can confirm that the usage of PPH is less

    than the wood, therefore longer life time of the PPH drum compared to both Stainless Steel and wood!

    Cost effective reuse of existing wooden drums parts. We offer various rebuild possibilities where existing components can be fully or partially reused (armatures, drive systems, pillars and supports, control panels, installation etc), thus giving a possibility of getting full advantage of a new PPH drum body with existing parts with limited budgets!

    For some special applications all inside parts of our PPH drums are completely covered with PPH where no stainless steel parts are allowed due to its chemical reaction to certain chemicals

  • PPH TT DRUMS Hni has introduced a completely new unique production technology of PPH drums Different than from our PPH AGI drums the TT construction does not need joint welding on the outside. We call this new technology TT-Technology. These cylinders are produced on special machines guaranteeing maximum stability and mechanical resistance. Main characteristics are:

    ! No outside welding, thus reduced tensions! ! No outside reinforcements (hoops, metal frame) thus optimal construction according to plastic material

    construction and no maintenance. All necessary reinforcements are done inside. IT IS A FUNDAMENTAL CONSTRUCTION MISTAKE TO MAKE A CAGE OUTSIDE AS OTHERS DO. THIS MUST BREAK SOONER OR LATER BECAUSE PLASTIC MATERIALS HAVE THEIR ELONGATIONS THAT NEED TO BE CONSIDERED ! Any colour (we have chosen black but any other colour could be produced). !
