"Why?"

There are a number of reasons, including...

I've retired and, as those who have worked with me over the years will know that I "doodled" during meetings; I found it kept me focused and the doodles helped me to remember what was discussed, far better than notes taken;

I find drawing, and as I've now discovered colouring, relaxing; I am still up and about, usually around 06:00 and It provides me with a relaxing start

to the day, before my better half joins me in the morning.

I hope that you get pleasure from seeing these pictures and/or discover (as I did) more

about the Druid Horoscope Signs.

1 Introduction

The relationship between mankind and their environment seems to me to be diminishing!

I've always felt that we have lost so much knowledge about plants, animals, and much

more.

How many people in our modern world...

think that the sun rises in the East and sets in the West? notice that the sun rises and sets, here in the UK, at different places on the horizon?

Druids were not only aware, they also realized that there was a distinct pattern that

repeated itself during the year; a pattern where, if you take East as a fixed point, the sun

seems to rise further North each day until, here in the UK, it seems to stop, then move

further south each day, past due East, until it seems to stop again.

Yes it then seems to rise further North each day until it's back rising due East. A pattern

Druids celebrated the mid-points of this apparent movement - the Spring and Autumn

Equinox and the extremes of the apparent movement; the Summer Solstice (or Summer

Opposition) and the Winter Solstice (or Winter Opposition).

As Hunter Gatherers, trees were also of great importance to the Druids so, in general, the

location of the Sun relatively to the Earth is the basis for the Druids' Horoscope Symbols

which are specific trees.

Some people believed (still believe) that a person's destiny, future, character and abilities

depend on distance of the Sun from the Earth at the day of their birth. That's why each sign

has two periods of activity.
