SI-8746 HARRIER4-Channel, 10 kHz - 30 MHz, 30 MHz BW Tuner/Receiver

Harrier detects very weak signals in strong signal environments. With the

ability to continuously stare at the entire HF spectrum and to perform

precision tuning in multiple sub-bands, Harrier meets challenges posed

by a range of COMINT1 missions. Harrier provides exceptional dynamic

range, clearly exceeding the performance of conventional narrowband and

wideband digital HF radios.

Harrier is superior in its class for low size, weight, power and cost per

received signal. In a 1U half-rack form factor, Harrier weighs approximately

10 pounds and consumes less than 100 watts of power, or about 25 watts

per channel. Harrier is available in two or four channels, and each channel

directly digitizes the entire HF spectrum from 10 kHz to 30 MHz. The

digitized IF of each channel is precision time-stamped in VITA 49 format

and transmitted over a 1-Gig or 10-Gig Ethernet link.

PICOCEPTOR SOFTWARECompatible Software and Firmware Loads

NARROWBAND SURVEILLANCE RECEIVER SOFTWAREWith this software load, the Picoceptor can operate as a conventional narrowband

surveillance receiver. The software allows the Picoceptor to perform AM, FM, CW,

USB, LSB, and PM demodulation with user selectable digital signal bandwidths of

2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 kHz. The standard receiver load has the ability to

stream digital data, including audio, through the remote interface port while the

VITA 49 provides additional precision time-stamping information that complies with

the standard VITA 49 format. The digital I/Q9 data with time-stamping information

can be used in applications such as time difference of arrival or direction finding.

WIDEBAND TUNER SOFTWARE PACKAGEThe wideband tuner software package expands the Picoceptor bandwidth set up to 6

MHz and allows real-time I/Q9 data streaming over the USB interface. The firmware

provides filtering, decimation and gain control but does not provide demodulation or

audio processing. Drivers and utilities are also available for collecting and recording

the data to a hard drive in a Linux or Windows environment. The data from the unit

can be read, saved and processed with custom software if desired.

HIGH-SPEED SCAN SOFTWAREThe high-speed scan software package provides all the necessary software loads

to allow a single-channel Picoceptor to function as an extremely fast spectral

search engine providing a scanning rate of up to 4 GHz/sec. The software load

provides the ability to detect RF energy as narrow as 4.5 kHz in bandwidth. The

user may task the Picoceptor to search the entire Picoceptor RF tuning range or

multiple independent RF segments.

NEW ENERGY DETECTOR 12 DDC SOFTWARE LOAD This load allows the Picoceptor to function as a signal search engine that detects

the presence of new energy within a selectable spectrum band up to 34 MHz

wide. New energy can then be monitored by 12 DDCs3. The Picoceptor develops

a baseline of a signal environment by taking successive learning passes across a

signal band of interest to determine peak signal levels. An ample range of triggering

mechanisms is available to define how new energy is detected including: new

signal qualification, signal decay time, absolute squelch level and level relative

either to the noise floor or to an established signal strength threshold.

SI-9173 VESPER8 to 10-Channel, 2 MHz - 6 GHz, 100 MHz BW Tuner and Exciter

Built with a modular approach, the Vesper family of high-performance tuners and

exciters raises the bar for RF performance, capability and ultra-dense packaging.

With configurations that allow both receive and transmit capabilities, and the

incorporation of significant on-board processing resources, Vesper is ideal for

COMINT1, ELINT6, electronic support measures5, electronic attack and future

cyber applications.

Vesper offers up to 10 RF channels for either high-performance receive or

transmit capability, covering a frequency range from 2 MHz - 6 GHz with a 100

MHz bandwidth. Each channel’s data is digitized, time-stamped and packetized

via VITA 49. Tight coupling of the digitizer with the RF converter and other

design techniques allows Vesper to achieve the best overall RF performance

from antenna input through digitization. A Virtex 690T FPGA7 and a multi-core Keystone II system-on-chip together offer significant

processing resources and flexibility. Currently, Aurora is available for data transport; however, options such as 10-Gig Ethernet and

PCI Express can be added with minimal effort.

The Vesper tuner can be configured to contain eight receive channels, or configured with nine receive channels and one

transmit channel. Vesper’s ability to rapidly create different product instantiations and its adherence to open standards, such

as VITA 65, allows for low-cost, customizable and scalable product developments for various CONOPS2.

SI-8646 TALON4-Channel, 20 MHz - 6 GHz, 40 MHz BW Receiver

The Talon is a smaller version of the Falcon receiver, but it is just as fierce.

With four channels operating in a 1U half-rack, the Talon’s size, weight and

power are reduced while still meeting the most demanding application

requirements.

The Talon has a wide range of uses in environments where visibility is low

or non-existent, including multi-static radar applications. From fixed ground

sites to mobile airborne platforms, the Talon can be used almost anywhere.

The Talon’s ultra-low phase noise keeps its noise floor low and enhances

its dynamic range, allowing the detection of small signals of interest in

the presence of large interferers. Small signals are hidden in the noise

floors of other sensors with poor phase noise performance. The Talon’s low

intermodulation distortion and exceptionally fast tuning speed further round

out a performance that significantly exceeds current industry standards.
