Drop and insert DS3 networking is prac-

tical and efficient with the ADTRAN MX3208

or MX3216. Packaged in a 1RU, 19-inch

chassis the MX3208 or MX3216 routes DS1s

between the two DS3 interfaces with access

to 8 or 16 DS1s at any node.

The MX3208 interfaces to two coaxial

DS3s and provides the ability to drop and

insert up to 8 DS1 signals from either DS3

interface on the terminal side. The MX3216

provides the same functions as the MX3208

with 16 DS1 signals. The DS1s will be acces-

sible through the champ connector on the

back of the chassis as short haul DSX-1

signals. An RMM can be added as an

optional IP router for Ethernet network exten-

sion throughout the network and

telnet-based terminal server ports.
