1. Lived in Mecca on the Arabian Peninsula2. At the age of 40 (610 AD) he reported the Archangel Gabriel told him he was called on to be a prophet of God.

3. Gabriel revealed two revelations to Muhammada. First Revelation: There is only one god Allahb. Second Revelation: Muhammad was to rise and warn people of a judgment to come.

1. Several years after the revelations, Muhammad began to preach in the streets to the people

of Mecca.a. He preached on the ideas of equality and
