Why – WG Technology
The main purposes of forming a new Working Group (WG) under Technology theme can be summarized as follows:
✈ Global competition is growing...
✈ Lower cost is not sustainable, investment in new technology and innovation is a must for competitiveness.
✈ EACP is a great network for integrating the technological needs of the industry players (OEM´s and SME’s) and the offers from universities and research centers.

Funding can be achieved by working together on common EU projects as well as locally funded projects:

Partner Search : A Recent Example
Cross-Clustering Partner Search from Poland:
✈The Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia, a Polish non-profit research organisation and a Polich cluster company looking for partners in the aerospace industry.
✈A joint research and innovation action would concern: the proposal, submission and implementation of a research project called VESPA: Vitrification Experiments on Strongly Polluted Ashes.

Actions Taken:
✈Informed members at EACP. (Thanks to Anna…)
✈An active member of ACA, who is the coordinator of the Technology Transfer Office and also the head of the Materials Science and Engineering Dept. in Katip Celebi University in Izmir is interested in this potential collaboration. Assoc.Prof. M. Ozgur Seydibeyoglu also has a small SME in the University Techno Park.
✈He has communicated with the project responsible person at The Research and Innovation Centre Pro-Akademia and hopefully they will start a collaboration in this project, soon.

Activity so far...
✈Creating a map of European wide Technology Excellence Centers and Universities (by their competitiveness) in order to create an available technologies database.
✈Started a “EACP Technology Competence Matrix”
✈Checking the EU (and national) research programs identifying the innovation challenges and creating a link for matchmaking between technology offers and SME’s needs
✈Meeting with the Local Authority (TUBITAK) and received training on research program identificatin process

EACP – EASN Cooperation – We need to act...
✈The European Aeronautics Science Network (EASN) is a European Association, the primary aim of which is the advancement of the aeronautics sciences and technologies in Europe. An important strategic objective of EASN is to promote, encourage, and coordinate joint efforts between Universities, Research Organizations, Industry and SMEs which are active in the field of aeronautics and aerospace.
✈EACP and EASN has signed a MOU in Nov. 2014. (expired)
✈The present Memorandum of Understanding aims at building strong partnerships between EACP members and EASN members. The expected benefits from this would be to increase the quality and number of projects and project applications in (EU Research Projects) Horizon 2020, Clean Sky JU2, SESAR and other trans-national funding programmes.
✈New MOU needs to be executed…
