SCOPE:• Train 160 Cadets (Junior and Senior college students)

annually at Virginia Military Institute in small unit tactics and leadership; preparation for the Leadership Development and Accessions Camp (LDAC) which determines the career path of each Cadet.

• Coordinate training plans, logistical requirements, and resources for a full academic school year

• Develop, mentor, and coach Cadets to their full potential as future Commissioned Army Officers charged with leading Soldiers into combat.

• Manage the Human Resources section of the battalion (5 Gov’t civilian employees) of 996 Cadets; full spectrum of personal administration including pay, training records, medical readiness/qualification, security clearances, evaluations, and career management.

EXPERIENCE and RESULTS

RESULTS:• Produced more fully qualified Cadets (110+ annual)

ready for commissioning than any other ROTC program in the nation, 2 years in a row (2011 & 2012)

• Trained Cadets with superior results with VMI ROTC earning the #8 ranked Cadet in year group 2011 and the #3 ranked Cadet in year group 2012 out of 5500+ Cadets sent to LDAC each summer

• Nominated for the Leo A. Codd Award for best ROTC Instructor of the year 2011 (Nationwide)

• Retrained and resolved personal conflict within a dysfunctional HR team with major disciplinary issues into a cohesive and high performing team with zero infractions in the last 11 months and impeccable customer service despite a 50% increase in enrolled ROTC Cadets in 2012-2013.

Soldiers and Officers, 5 UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopters, and $28 million worth of equipment in the country of Japan (Greater Tokyo)

• Manage a $2.5 million annual flying hour budget• Responsible for all aspects of mission

accomplishment as well as career progression, equipment qualification, training, and personnel welfare for individual Soldiers

• Support all U.S. Armed Forces missions in Western Pacific Theatre, including 7th Special Forces Group, I Corps, and U.S. Government Officials

• Foster goodwill and act as ambassadors to Japan while representing U.S. interests in theatre

EXPERIENCE and RESULTS

RESULTS:• Battalion earned LTG Ellis D. Parker Award for top

Aviation Unit (in TDA category) for its accomplishments in 2009-2010

• 100% mission success throughout time as the commander

• Executed proper maintenance of aircraft fleet and ensured zero safety violations or accidents during tenure

• Self-deployed the company to Thailand for 6 weeks to support international training exercises, managing (and flying) over 50 sorties in jungle environment with zero accidents or incidents

• Upon assuming command, successfully employed change management techniques to reshape the heavily entrenched culture of the unit to align with the goals and intent of the Commanding General and the rapid change in the mission of U.S. Forces Japan

SCOPE:• Manage Aviation mission assets and requirements for

an entire combat division (6,000+ troops), • Coordinate and manage support and expectations

between the Division Aviation Brigade and Infantry Combat Brigades

• Process, prioritize, allocate, and manage air mission requests across the Division.

• Advise the Division Command Group (Senior Executives) as the aviation subject matter expert; provide full analysis and course of action development on all aviation matters

EXPERIENCE and RESULTS

RESULTS:• Rated consistently as the top junior officer within the

G3 Air section for 2 years• Hand selected to forward deploy in combat as the

aviation advisor the Division 2nd in command during the last major “kinetic” combat operation of the Iraq War (Battle of Amarrah), Independently managed all aviation support for an entire Infantry Combat Brigade (and Iraqi Forces) for a period of 6 weeks.

• Re-engineered and streamlined the Air Mission Request process reducing processing and approval time by over 75%

SCOPE:• Supervise 200+ Soldiers, Technicians, and Mechanics

conducting Intermediate Level Aviation Maintenance for an entire Aviation Brigade (120+ aircraft)

• Responsible for all aspects of mission accomplishment as well as career progression, equipment qualification, training, and personnel welfare for individual Soldiers

• Coordinate and plan efforts between teams (Production Control, Quality Control, Armament Shop, Avionics Shop, and Component Repair shops)

• Advise the Company Commander on complex logistical and maintenance problems issues; provide full analysis and course of action development

• Maintain proficiency and support aviation missions as a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot

EXPERIENCE and RESULTS

RESULTS:• Successfully lead the platoon through a combat

deployment while conducting 24/7 operations and an operational tempo 4 times greater than in garrison (stateside) operations

• Led recovery operations of 2 severely damaged UH-60 helicopters and creatively “rigged” each helicopter in a non-standard configuration for transport back to the U.S. for repair

• Successfully managed a team of 50 Soldiers for 4 weeks independent from the Battalion during port operations, fully preparing and loading over 120 helicopters onto transport ships with zero accidents or safety violations

SCOPE:• Manage administrative and logistical support for an

aviation company consisting of anywhere from 50 to 160 Soldiers, coordinate and track maintenance schedules and issues for multiple pieces of critical mission equipment from Night Vision Devices, nuclear biological and chemical protective equipment, weapon systems, and up to 47 heavy vehicles

• Advise the Company Commander on complex logistical and maintenance problems issues; provide full analysis and course of action development

• Manage a flight operations section of 10 Soldiers; responsible for tracking aviation missions, aircraft and pilot records, and key control for 32 helicopters

• Assist Battalion Operations section with complex problem solutions and course of action development

• Maintain proficiency and support aviation missions as a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot

EXPERIENCE and RESULTSFlight Operations Officer and Company Executive Officer

(2003-2004, 2nd Infantry DIV, Republic of Korea / 2004-2005, 101st Airborne DIV)

RESULTS:• Successful 1 year tour in Korea, maintained 93%+

maintenance rate on all accountable weapons, equipment, and vehicles

• Trained and prepared Flight Operations section for combat operations, deployed all assigned equipment to Iraq and established operations to begin immediate mission support within 2 weeks of arrival

• Achieved readiness level 1 in assigned aircraft (UH-60 Blackhawk) in all modes of flight to include Day, Night, and Night Vision Goggles.
