Morpheus

Morpheus then appeared. He was a tall pale bald man with large bushy black eyebrows, and

tiny piercing icy bue eyes, in a long dark robe, purple and black. There were spikes coming

up out of his shoulders like armor. He looked at me sternly, then began walking without

saying a word. I fell into step next to him, then his appearance changed to Morpheus fromThe Matrix, then, dozens and dozens of different random people like the Scramble Suit in

Scanner !arkly.

He stopped. The music changed, or started up again, and beautiful "ines grew and swirled

around us on the ground. #rass, bushes and trees grew up around us, and animals began to

inhabit the forest. I tried to remember $uestions I wanted to ask him.

He spoke first. %I, together with my brothers, create e"ery dream and e"ery nightmare for

you. &e are beauty, and ugliness, ecstasy and pain. &e are e"erything you lo"e, and

e"erything you seek to destroy.%

There were "arious strange magical odds and ends, but I didn(t pay much attention to them,

for the face of Morpheus kept changing still, but his clothes no longer did. Suddenly his

appearance stopped changing, and he looked like a stern wizard again. I tried to remember

my $uestions.

%&ho are you)% I asked.

%I am e"eryone you e"er ha"e met and e"eryone you e"er will meet in a dream. I am you. I

am e"eryone and no one at the same time.%

%How do I stay lucid longer)%

He paused, and chuckled. %*ou already know, or you will know, or you ha"e known all your

life.% Then, I felt him communicating telepathically to me+ *ou are lucid right now. *ou know

this is a dream. *ou know what you need to do. *ou don(t need to ask me anything. *ou

already ha"e the answer, for I am you, great -an. The phrase % great -an,% he said

sarcastically, as if he knew I wasn(t -an himself, but only me becoming -an in my dreams.

f course he would know that I was not -an, him being me./ I couldn(t think of any more

$uestions, and the dream ended.

&e were in a beautiful garden. There were all kinds of fruit trees, and lo"ely flowering plants

all around us. 0ees and butterflies were flitting about, pollinating the blossoms. There were

many pale grey steps leading up what looked like a temple. woman that was about 12

feet high slowly made her way down the steps. She was wearing a long grey dress, and her

skin and hair was the color of the full moon.

%re you the moon goddess)% I asked.

Then, she turned into a great golden snake, and opened her 3aws, hissing. ll our

surroundings instantly became dark and half4dead.

%I am whoe"er you want me to be5% The snake(s "oice was like gra"el scraping a frozen sea.

The surroundings were familiar to me. %h5 It(s Morpheus5% Morpheus changed into a man

wearing a blue and black robe with a bald head.

%&elcome to my castle,% he smiled. Morpheus turned and walked to the entrance. &e

followed him, eyes wide.

%&ho are you) re you me)%

%6o5% he said sternly, %I am a separate entity.%

&e were suddenly in a huge dimly lit hall, with a ceiling so high it disappeared into the

darkness. &e were sitting at a "ery long dining table. The table was full of food. There was

a huge plate of many "ariety of fruits. 7a"en and Selene began eating at one end, and I

started eating all the fruits.

Morpheus sat at the end and grinned. %8"ery dream about eating in dining rooms takesplace here,% he said. Suddenly the room changed, and it was a 9:;2(s style dining area near

a kitchen. There was a folding card table with a blue and green flower print on a white

background. I felt disoriented. The room changed back to what it had been before.

Morpheus got up from the table, and I followed him into the scullery. It was hot. -eople

were cooking, and washing dishes in big wooden tubs. The place changed to a modern

kitchen in a home. I felt disoriented and confused again.

Morpheus and I were suddenly walking in a great hall. It was the same hall from a pre"ious

dream, like a long hall in a midea"el castle.

''''Hades

The ground was full of great pits. I was in a great ca"e under the earth, an underground

world. There were treacherous narrow paths between the pits. In the center of the ca"e was

a throne, on which sat the god Hades. I went to him, and stood before the throne. He

looked like he was made of grey stone. His eyes were empty sockets, but I felt him looking

at me. He had a s$uare 3aw, a sharp nose, and a thick s$uare beard. He was wearing a

stone crown.

%h, we meet again, tra"eler,% he said to me. He stood up from the throne, and I followed

him. %&ho are you) re you me)% I asked.

%6o5% he replied, insulted. %I am Hades.% There were many people repeating "arious tasks. I

asked him what they were doing. He told me they were trying to learn a lesson.

He stopped at one particular pit where the heat coming out of it was intense. He looked

down into it. I followed his gaze into the pit below. It was full of fire. There were people in

the fire screaming and moaning, reaching upwards.

%&hat is that)% I asked.

%Hell,% he said. %They created it themsel"es.%

%How long are they going to be down there)% I asked.

%They will be there until they feel they ha"e been punished enough,% said Hades.

%So, they can lea"e whene"er they want to)% I asked incredulously.

%*es.%%So why don(t they)% I asked on the "erge of anger.

%#uilt.%

Hades shook his head, and walked on. I felt sorry for the people in Hell, but then I realized

they weren(t actually feeling the pain of fire, only the pain of their guilt from their former

life.

I followed Hades again, and he led me upwards. &e were in total blackness. Then, I felt like

my eyes got ad3usted to the light. I saw people sitting in a huge circle, so big that I could

not see the whole thing. They were meditating with their eyes closed.

I heard Hades( "oice in my head. %This is the place between worlds. This is where people go

to plan out their next life.%

Suddenly, we were in Hollow 8arth. The light was bright. 8"erything was beautiful. In the

sky was a great black sun, that you could stare right at. The plants and lo"ely translucent

shimmery pastels reminded me of the !ream &arrior planet. &e walked down a path,

taking in all the beauty.

%6o,% he said. %That man is my brother.%

%So, all these people, are they real) &hat I mean is, is this world a physical place) re we in

the same dimension as the physical world on the =rust.%

He looked at me directly, and simply said, %*es.%

%!o not fear a number,% he said answering my anxiety. Then he answered my $uestion

bo"e the shrine was a great mirror. The mirror had a beautiful frame, like dark sil"er with

hints of gold, wrought into the shape of two dragons. I saw ?aphor, my red dragon guide

floating on a cloud in the mirror.

%How do I increase clarity)% I asked him.

%pen your eyes, he said.%He faded into the background slightly, and I saw my own face. %pen my eyes, open my

eyes,% I said to myself. Suddenly, my third eye popped open, and looked around. It startled

me. I looked at it. It was the most "i"id thing I ha"e e"er seen in a &IC!. It had a blue iris,

and thick black lashes.

I was in the meditation room of my li"ing house. I was looking in the mirror at my third eye.

I stood up and walked around. I could see e"erything glowing, and what it appeared to be

pre"iously was a faint o"erlay image. I felt extremely disoriented. I walked around, and left

my house. 8"erything still looked like that.%ck5 &hat is this)% I grabbed my head.

%&hat you are seeing,% said a "oice which I recognized as ?aphor, %is the energy of all

things. The archetype images created by your own mind is now gone, and you are seeing

the truth beneath.% I walked around looking at the energy. It was fascinating, confusing,

and completely disorienting. I felt like I had some kind of mental "ertigo. %I don(t know if I

want to see e"erything like this5% I said to no one. %I feel so confused5%

Suddenly he and I were flying through space each in our own bubble, and ?aphor was a red

gargoyle, and I was a sky blue gargoyle. &e were zipping around through the uni"erse. He

spoke to me $uickly telepathically.

*ou are in reality. ll is real. 8"erything you see is real. 6othing is e"erything, and

e"erything is nothing. 8xistence is infinite. *ou are infinitely less and infinitely more than a

speck in the sea of existence. &e are connected to e"erything because of existence.Separation of self is an idea for sur"i"al, but we are incessantly united. 8"erything is the

same. 6othing is real. The Eoid is a real place, which doesn(t exist, ne"er has existed, and

ne"er will. The Eoid is within and without you. Doolishness is wisdom, and wisdom is for

fools. The merry at heart are righteous, the sad are blameless, the angry ones pity, and the

e"il ones destroy themsel"es out of necessity.

&e were in outer space. I felt my body turn inside out, and he was spinning me in two great

circles, no a lemniscate. It was absolutely terrifying. My dream body wanted to feel pain,

but I kept reminding myself that it was a dream. If I had a mouth, it would ha"e beenopened in a silent scream of near madness.

absorbed him into me. The whole world folded up like a paper getting sucked into a "acuum

cleaner.

I was in outer space, and =hronos, the god of time, with the appearance of Mr. #one floated

in front of me. I felt sick and dizzy. %&hat the hell was that)%

%That was an impostor, child,% and he threw back his head and laughed merrily.

%*ou(ll be fine, in time5% Then he laughed again at his own 3oke.

The Tower Computer

I am back in the 0iodome, stumbling around confusedly. I teleport to the Tower. I amstanding on a pink circle which is scanning me. The computer says+ !ark energy detected,

parasite detected.

I am in a sick bay room, strapped down to a bed. with my arms splayed out. medical

droid rolls o"er to me, and in3ects something into my torso. I start shaking. 0lack tendrils

come out of me, then disappear. I breathe deeply, and try to relax.

The Tower computer spoke again+ 6omad, you ha"e been in3ected with a substance that will

increase the resistance in your "eins to dark energy. It will keep it from flowing into other

parts of your body. 0ut, you must not swallow or absorb the dark energy as you ha"e been.

*ou must inhale it, then $uickly exhale it. That is the only way your body will be able to

handle it. lso, the rage parasite has returned, attracted to the rage energy within you. Cet

go of the rage, and the parasite will star"e. 6ow, breathe deeply, warrior, and be at peace.

7est. Selene is resting in the room next to you.

Buddha

I decided I wanted to go into the spirit realm with some monks, and kill 0uddha. 0uddha

was a giant glowing golden man, meditating in lotus. His aura was so intense, I could see it.It was golden, with some rainbow4ey colors coming off of it. ll the monks were using all

kinds of weapons and physical attacks against 0uddha. It was like toddlers trying to fight a

grown man. I 3oined them anyway. It was useless.

moon, punching a hole in it. I decided I would become e"en bigger than planets. I

swallowed Saturn, Mercury, and Mars. I became bigger, and I swallowed the Sun.

I felt the Sun burning inside me. I became a golden man. I flew to the center of the galaxy

to swallow that also. There were "ery bright white big stars all around me. They were

blindingly white. Their power was so intense I was afraid. %This is a dream,% I said to myself,%so why I am I scared)%

I stayed where I was, saying, %this is a dream.% I felt the stars watching me bene"olently. I

was awed at their power. I was o"erwhelmed.

I couldn(t handle it anymore. The light was blinding, and the emotion was too intense. I

went back to the Moon, and I was me again.

I summoned a murder of ra"ens, and they flew down from the sky and landed on the

ground, gobbling up the worms.Suddenly I felt like I was ha"ing a "ision+ I was a ra"en, with a worm glowing inside of me.

reality interacts with others( reality all based on each others( thoughts. 8"en harm to others

begins as ill will in the mind, does it not) f course. *our problem is you think this is

illusion, and waking life is reality. &hat you don(t understand is all is illusion, and all is

reality. Monsters that terrorize you in nightmares, will cause fear in waking life, therefore

their power is bleeding o"er into what you call reality.

The lines between dimensions are not so clearly drawn. !o you follow) lready, you are

smudging the border, and you continue to smudge the borders e"en further. Smudge... that

rhymes with budg4ie, sort of. That reminds me. The budgies.%

He didn(t show me the birds, but I could telepathically see what they looked like.

Sensing my doubt, he said, %I really am, you know. 0ut, you don(t ha"e to belie"e me. I still

exist regardless.% &ith that he laughed at me, like an older brother laughs at a younger

sibling when teaching the younger one to walk.

8"ery time I asked my $uestions, he kept changing the sub3ect back to the topic of the

dream bud3ies. %These birds are magical, you know,% he grinned, as is if sharing a great

secret. He talked about them the way someone talks about a prized rare gemstone.%I don(t really get it. I(m sorry.%

%Ma4gic4al,% he said slowly, mocking me. %The birds are magical, you know what magic is5%

%0ut, what(s magic about them.%

%&ell, it doesn(t matter what is magical about the adult breeding pair. Magic "aries from

generation to generation. &hat matters is the magical $ualities of the dream budgie babies

that are still in their eggs. I(m so excited5 ren(t you)% he smiled like a little kid showing off

a new bike.

forgot part of the dream. I don(t want you to forget the whole thing5% he laughed cheerily.Selene seem perplexed as we walked out the door.

Future's Hope (my spaceship)

75 I morphed into a giant la"a minotaur, bursting through the skin of the ship. %&hat is

wrong with me)% I roared. 7a"en shot a beam of purple flame at me, glowing orange at the

tips. I shrunk down, and returned to normal.

I went back down into the ship, and the hole I made instantly closed, as if it was healing

itself. Selene(s face was pale. She was freaked out. Spike looked mildly annoyed.

%#o to the back of the ship,% said the ship in my head. I stepped on to a glowing la"endercircle, that looked like it was glowing through the deck. I changed into my energy form. The

ship(s energy started mo"ing all around me, like an energy shower. I saw my ner"ous

system in my energy body. Dor some reason, I was a la"ender color, though pre"iously I

was always green. Cightning came down, and flowed through me. I saw a little green worm

in the back of my skull.

%&hat is that) =an(t you get rid of it)% I asked the ship.

%6o, only you can. That is your rage. !o not fear it, and it will weaken and disappear in

time,% said the ship to me in my head.

I morphed back into my nomad self. I knew at that point that I was okay.

I summoned a cannabis plant. %&hat(s that for)% said 7a"en.

%#ood medicine5% I smiled. %I(ll 3ust keep that for later use.% #auntlet reference./ She

laughed and shook her head.

%&elcome,% said the alien, %to the planet of the !ream &arriors. &e ha"e been expecting

s we followed him down the path, I looked around at the city. There were all types of races

milling about. Some looked at us curiously, some ga"e us no heed. %I feel like I(m on a5% I

thought. I instincti"ely morphed into a #reen Cantern.

ur guide turned to me and chuckled. %*es, this is like a,% he said, %but this is not.

I morphed back into my nomad self. I noticed the others were also walking around wide4

eyed.

The ream !arrior Master

The de"il man appeared in front of me, towering abo"e looking terrible and e"il. His eyesglowed yellow. He chortled. He flexed his fists, cracking his knuckles. He picked me up, and

swallowed me. I let my rubber ball self roll down his throat, and when I got to his stomach,

I started bouncing, bouncing, bouncing, harder and faster, until I broke through his flesh. I

bounced harder and faster off the sides of the dome, until I was bouncing as fast as a bullet,

putting holes in him from all directions. His eyes bugged out. D5 He gasped, and the

battle was o"er.

He returned to normal size. Smoke rose from his skin. %So why do you look like The !e"il)%

I asked.

%0ecause you(re a fool555% he answered derisi"ely, then disappeared.

I felt like I was back in the dome as before, but e"erything was pitch black. I looked around

for my friends.

%*ou(re alone. re you afraid)% said a booming "oice.

%65% I shouted defiantly. I felt embarrassed that I had e"en answered. I felt like a silly

child.

Suddenly a man appeared in front of me. He looked like my nomad form. &e were in a

furious sword duel before I knew what was happening. He countered my e"ery attack, and I

his, but I felt like he could ha"e taken me at any moment if he wanted to. t first I en3oyed

it, then I felt like he was toying with me. I began to get frustrated.

&e were instantly back in the training dome on the !ream &arrior planet. *oda turned into

the !e"il. %&hat do you think)% he laughed and disappeared.

The Frost $iant, the god of !inter

I was instantly in the ca"e of the Drost #iant. I saw a golden glow coming from the back of

the ca"e. Cittle Aoseph was there. He looked like green crystal energy. The frost giant was in

the rear of the ca"e with Aoseph, and I saw the source of the glow. 7a"en was sleeping, a

slightly pained expression on her face. #olden light was pouring out of her.

I pulled out my did3eridoo, to try to aid in healing. I blew it, and the whole world twisted for

a second. It was "ery disorienting. I stopped. %&hoah5 &hoah there5% laughed the Drost

#iant. %*ou are bending reality5%

%h5% I felt at once confused, pleasantly surprised, and embarrassed.

%!o not be concerned,% said the Drost #iant. %She is only resting.%%0ut, how will I know if any of this is real)% I asked. He looked at me with large gentle eyes.

%=hild, e"erything is real. @uiet your mind. Cook, Aoseph has something he wants to show

you.%

The frost giant stirred a pot of soup abo"e a small fire. &e stared into the flames for awhile

in silence.

%s you become stronger, you are attract more of these creatures that want to feed off of

%8nergy is energy. There is all kinds of energy. *ou can absorb the dark energy of you foes

and use it against them. 0ut, it must be like sucking molasses through a straw. !o not

swallow the dark energy. It will make you "omit. Instead inhale it, then instantly exhale it.%

%I want to know about you. &ho are you)%

%I am the god of the 6orth, the god of &inter, I ha"e many names.%

%Then why are we at the end of winter here)%

%ll things end, and all things begin. Cook, e"en now, a great blizzard blows outside this

ca"e.% I looked, and the outside of the ca"e was bright white with a hea"y snowfall.

%&here do you come from) *our people, where are they)%

%I am the last of my kind. nce we were numerous on the face of the earth. &e became

tools of the gods, and they dro"e us mad with bloodlust. &e ate humans. The humans made

war on us, killing most of us with their weapons of bone and stone. There are still a few of

us left. They call us abominable snowman, or *eti.%

%The others are like animals. They ha"e lost their sentience. I ha"e lost contact with them

eaons ago. They wander the frozen north as great carni"ores. I am the only one left with a

mind.%

ltair and I followed the Drost #iant toward the back of his ca"e, and stepped through the

rear wall, which apparently was an illusion. &e were in a giant geode. =rystals the size of

trees grew out in all directions.

%This is the source of my power.% I closed my eyes and inhaled. I felt circular disks of power

spinning through me at all angles. I opened my eyes. The crystal were beautiful. I felt like I

was treading on sacred ground. &e returned to the ca"e. The Drost #iant sat down, and

began stirring the pot again.%0ut, I want to know who you really are.%

He looked up at me and smiled.

%&hy do you people always speak in riddles) &hy don(t you answer things directly)%

%I think you know the answer.%

%&ho are you)%
