Drayton Entertainment Announces 2014 Season

Tuesday, October 15th, 2013

CAMBRIDGE – Alex Mustakas, Artistic Director of Drayton Entertainment, has unveiled an ambitious 2014 Season playbill that will span 10 months over 7 stages throughout the province of Ontario.

From chart-busting Broadway hits to spectacular kid-friendly shows, exhilarating musical tributes to laugh-out-loud comedies, and some dramatic murder mysteries, there is something for everyone on stage from March through December next year.

“With the tremendous success of our inaugural season in Cambridge, and the final components of our capital renovations at other theatres now complete, we are excited to build on our strong foundation and expand the unique Drayton Experience in 2014 to new audiences,” says Mustakas.

A key element of the 2014 Season is a major Broadway musical, which due to a strict licensing agreement, will not be disclosed until 2014.

“The mystery and speculation has definitely created intrigue,” he says.

Tickets are on sale now exclusively to Members, followed by Groups and Subscribers in November and the public at the end of the year. Dunfield Theatre Cambridge The 2014 Season commences with the fun-filled rock ’n roll revue, Twist and Shout: The British Invasion. Featuring classic songs by The Beatles, The Hollies, and The Rolling Stones, this irresistible piece of 60s nostalgia will rock the stage March 5th to April 28th.

Next up, audiences will be doubled over with the outrageous British farce Run For Your Wife, April 16th to May 4th. An unfortunate event threatens to reveal a cabbie’s double life in this uproarious Ray Cooney romp.

The aforementioned yet-to-be-announced production is on stage June 11th to August 2nd. A passion project for Mustakas, the Broadway musical is believed to be among the most ambitious in the organization’s history.

The Season ends with a splashy Broadway spectacle for the entire family, with Drayton Entertainment’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid on stage November 19th to December 21st. St. Jacobs Country Playhouse
