Jesus is the “Star” of the drama of Revelation. In fact, the key purpose of

the book is to help us see Jesus in a wonderful new light. The name

“Revelation” means “revealing” or “unveiling”. The first five words

make it clear that it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ. So Jesus and His

magnificent loving plans for us are unveiled or revealed in the book of

Revelation.

We must look for Jesus in our study of Revelation. Jesus is anxious and

ready to shower upon us His special blessings as we study Revelation, His

special book.

So, with a prayer in our hearts, let us discover some of the thrilling truths

about Jesus as revealed in Revelation, the last book of the Bible.

1. How many names or titles does Jesus have?

Jesus is called by at least 37 different names or descriptive titles in

Revelation. In fact, these names or titles are used over 250 times in

Revelation. What are some of them?

a. Rev. 1:1 ______________

b. Rev. 1:5 ______________

c. Rev. 2:18 ______________ of ______________

d. Rev. 5:8, 9 ______________

e. Rev. 17:14 ______________ of ______________

f. Rev. 19:13-16 ______________ of ______________

2. How does Revelation describe Jesus? Rev. 1:13-18

a. Garment down to the _______ . d. Feet like polished ___________

b. His hair was ______________ e. Voice as many ______________

c. Eyes like _________________ f. Face bright as the ____________

NOTE: Both John (Rev 1:17) and Daniel (Dan 10:5-9) fell to the

ground when they saw Him.

this amazing time prophecy.

JESUS’ CRUCIFIXION FORETOLD

17. How much privileged time did God promise the Jews? Dan. 9:24

“______________________ weeks.” (70 X 7 = 490 years)

18. When was Jesus to be crucified? Dan. 9:26, 27

He was to be “___________________ , _________________ ” or

crucified, in the __________________ of the _____________.

NOTE: Daniel 9:26-27 says Jesus was to be “cut off” in the middle of

the last, or 70th, week. One-half of 7 years is 3-1/2 years. Add 3-1/2

years to the fall of 27 A.D. and you reach the spring of 31 A.D., when

Jesus was crucified. Jesus caused “the sacrifice and oblation to cease”

because He, as the Lamb of God, was slain, and His death on the cross

made animal sacrifices no longer necessary. See I Corinthians 5:7.

NOTE: God’s people were captive in Persia, and God impressed King

Artaxerxes to make a decree which permitted the Jews to return and

rebuild Jerusalem in 457 B.C. This decree is recorded in Ezra 7:7, 12,

13 and took place in the fall of the year.

14. When was the "Messiah" to appear? Dan. 9:25

_____________________________________ weeks after the decree.

NOTE: Time in prophecy is symbolic. God says, in Ezekiel 4:6, we

are to count each day for a year. Therefore, 69 prophetic weeks equals

483 prophetic days (69 X 7 =483) or 483 literal years.

15. Did the Messiah appear 483 years alter the decree?

Jesus appeared publicly as the Messiah exactly 483 years later on the

day of His baptism in 27 A.D., as shown on this chart.

NOTE: “Messiah” is Hebrew for “Anointed,” and “Christ” is the

Greek word for the same. Though Jesus was the Son of God, He was

not the “Messiah” or “Anointed” until He was anointed by the Holy

Ghost at the time of His baptism, Acts 10:38. Luke 3:1, 2 says this

event took place in the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar, which was in 27

A.D.

16. What did Jesus preach after His baptism? Mark 1:14, 15

“...the ______________________ is ________________________..”

NOTE: There can be no mistake. Jesus, as the true Messiah, fulfilled

OUR WONDERFUL SAVIOUR

3. What has Jesus done for us? Rev. 1:5

“ _____________ us and _____________ us from our ______________ .”

4. What titles has Jesus given us? Rev. 1:6

“And He hath made us _________________and _________________.”

NOTE: ln Old Testament days men had to approach God through the

priest but Jesus changed that. He made us all priests so we may

approach Him directly. Fantastic!

5. Why is Jesus worthy to redeem us? Rev. 5:8,9,l2

“For thou wast _________________and hast _________________us.”

NOTE: Jesus is referred to as a “Lamb” 26 times in Revelation. As

John the Baptist said, Jesus is the Lamb of God which takes away sin.

John 1:29. In Old Testament times, lambs were sacrificed when people

sinned. These lambs represented Jesus, the Lamb of God, who took

our place upon the cross and died for our sins.

6. When was Jesus’ sacrifice planned? Rev. 13:8 (1221)

“From the _________________ of the _________________.”

NOTE: See Ephesians 1:4 and 1 Peter 1:18-20 for more evidence.

7. Who opened the sealed hook? Rev. 5:6-9

Ans: __________________ ___________ __________________.

8. From whom did Jesus receive the hook? Rev. 5:7-9

“Of _________ _________ _________ _________ the Throne.”

NOTE: When Jesus took the sealed book from the Father, a new song

was sung in heaven. The new and living way of salvation was

established forever. Calvary now offers LIFE to all who accept Christ

Jesus as their Saviour.

This is why it is so important to place our lives in His hands. He then

will represent us in God’s Great Judgment.

ORIGIN AND POWER OF JESUS

9. Did Jesus exist before his birth in Bethlehem?

a. Rev. 21:6 “I am _______________ and _________________.”

b. Rev. 22:6, 7 “Lord God of the _________ _______________.”

5

NOTE: If Jesus is the Lord God of the holy prophets, then He is the

one who inspired the prophets. The Apostle Peter confirms this truth

(1 Peter 1:1O, 11). Other scriptures teach that Jesus pre-existed before

His birth in Bethlehem. For more proof see John 17:5, 24; 1:1-3, 14;

Philippians 2:5-11; and Ephesians 1:3, 4.

10. Who is identified as God's partner in creation? Rev. 3:14, 4:11

Ans: __________________________________________________.

NOTE: Several New Testament texts identify Jesus as the Creator of

this world. See Hebrews 1:1, 2; John 1:10; Colossians 1:16;

Ephesians 3:9.

11. ls Jesus God? Rev. 19:13-l6; 22:6,7; John 1:1, 14

Ans: __________________________________________________.

NOTE: In Revelation, Jesus is called the “Word of God”. John 1:1,14

makes it clear that the “Word” is Jesus and that He is indeed God.

See I Timothy 3:16, Titus 3:4 and Hebrews 1:8.

AN AMAZING TIME PROPHECY

12. How can we tell Jesus was the Messiah? Luke 24:27

By studying Bible _______________________________________.

NOTE: Bible prophecy confirms that Jesus was the true Messiah.

Over 500 years before Jesus was born of Mary, Daniel was given an

amazing prophecy which predicted the exact year Jesus was to appear

as the Messiah. Let us study this amazing prophecy.

13. When did this prophecy begin? Dan. 9:24-27

When the decree “to _____________ Jerusalem” was given.
