Drakenstein Gazette General - Algemeen Friday 10 April 20154
SSttaarr SSiiggnnssStar Signs22 December to21 JanuaryCAPRICORN
You readily discuss your personal needs and desires. Also, youare more aware of beauty and may want to rearrange yourdecor or buy something to beautify your surroundings. Yourrelationships are especially affectionate and friendly at thistime, and you may benefit socially or materially through an
opportunity offered to you by a friend.
21 January To20 FebruaryAQUARIUS
This is a good time to travel, especially to places you've neverexperienced before, where you will be exposed to new ideas anddifferent ways of looking at the world. Studying new concepts isalso favored; your ability to understand abstract ideas and yourdesire to grow intellectually is strong now. Anything that broadens
your world appeals to you at this time.
20 February to21 MarchPISCES
You act very impulsively and may do something spontaneouslythat really upsets the status quo in your life. Daring andreckless, you act with fierce independence. All manner of
accidents could result from this rash foolishness. You are apt tofeel tense, "wired", cross, or out of control. You might wish to
avoid traveling at this time.
21 March to21 AprilARIES
You know just what you want right now and woe to anyone oranything that gets in your way! You are much more likely to becomedomineering, pushy, or inconsiderate of others now, so it is a goodtime for you to do what you need to do by yourself rather than withothers. Accidents, mistakes made in haste, or ego conflicts may occur
due to your impatience and willfulness.
21 April to21 MayTAURUS
Talking with your mate, business partner, or otherclose associates is likely to be helpful now, and youmay be able to negotiate some agreement or come
to some resolution of a problem you've beenhaving. You're likely to be more fair and detached
at this time.
22 June to23 JulyCANCER
Your physical drive and energy level are high now, and you canaccomplish a great deal fairly easily. You are inclined to take the
initiative or to strike out on your own, and you are likely to be successfulat what you attempt at this time. Because you assert yourself in a
positive manner, a leadership role or an opportunity to do somethingyou have wanted to do on your own is likely to be offered to you.
21 May to22 JuneGEMINI
What occurs now makes you more aware of what you need, feel, andwant in your relationships. If you are unhappy in your personal life, this is brought out now, and you'll need to face what is causing yourdissatisfaction. Differences in personal style, tastes, and ways of
expressing affection may emerge. You also feel amorous and lovingand, if your personal life is going well, enjoy and appreciate it.
23 Julie to24 AugustLEO
This is not a period when you feel like pushing your own interests orone in which you are especially energetic. Other people's concerns and
needs receive more attention from you now, and you are moremotivated to do something which serves others, perhaps a group youare affiliated with. Cooperating with others for some idealistic purpose
is very satisfying for you at this time.
24 August to23 SeptemberVIRGO
You are very congenial and cooperative now and more interested inthe similarities than in the differences between yourself and others. This is a very good time to let people know you care about them:send a card, write a note of appreciation or even a love letter! Youmay also want to buy something beautiful, pleasing, and frivolous
which simply makes you feel good.
23 September to23 OctoberLIBRA
Contentment, emotional well-being, and harmony prevail in yourpersonal relationships. At this time you relax and indulge in your
pleasure-loving side. Unless other astrological indications override thisinfluence, you are unlikely to be forceful and try to make thingshappen, but instead are inclined to flow along with people and
situations, attracting what you need and letting the world come to you.
23 October to23 NovemberSCORPIO
This is a good time for relaxing recreation, a time to refreshand rejuvenate yourself and do the things you most enjoydoing. Good humor and optimism prevail now, and you are
able to get a larger perspective on your life. This is also a goodtime to approach someone who is in a position to benefit you
spiritually, intellectually, or materially.
23 November to22 DecemberSAGITTARIUS
Your mind is serious and you are able to concentrate on work thatrequires patience, attention to detail, and precision. Practicalconcerns dominate. It is a good time to learn practical skills, doyour taxes, organize your files, and take care of business. You'llwant to avoid light social conversation or trivialities that distract
you from your work.

is baie belangrik vir jou besigheid se oorle-wing.

Religion in schools:Report expected soonAcomprehensive reportonchildren’s opinions re-garding religion in schoolswill only be available inApril.
For this reason court docu-ments of the six schools in-volved in a test case regard-ingaschool’spolicyandprac-tices pertaining to religionwill probably only be filed inMay this year.An application for post-
ponement was lodged in theGauteng High Court lastweek.“We want to reiterate that
time cannot be the determin-ing factor in this case. Forthat the scope and impact ofthis case is simply too big,”says Paul Colditz, CEO of theFederation of GoverningBodies of South AfricanSchools (FEDSAS).The Organisasie vir Gods-
diensonderrig en Demokra-sie (Ogod) asked the Consti-tutional Court last year to de-clare it unconstitutional forcertain religious practices tobe given preference aboveothers.Sixschoolsarenamedin this application. The gov-erning bodies of the sixschools are members of FED-SAS, and FEDSAS forms partof these governing bodies’ le-gal team.“The voice of the child is
crucial. Not only is this a con-stitutional imperative, butOgod’s own constitution de-clares ‘that children have theright to say what they thinkshouldhappenandhave theiropinions taken into accountwhen adults aremaking deci-sions that affect children’.However, up to this point
this organisation has notshown that it really takes thechildren’s voice into ac-count.”In order to listen to chil-
dren the schools involvedhave obtained the expert ser-vices of a psychiatric foren-sic social worker, Dr TanyaRobinson, to amplify thevoice of the child in the appli-cation. “DrRobinson’s inves-tigation requires intensiveresearch. This includes visiting all
six respondent schools dur-ing the first quarter of thisyear, conducting a survey onlearners’ views regarding re-ligious practices in schools,an analysis of the data andthe compilation of a compre-hensive report. This is a time-consuming
taskand the reportwill there-fore not be published beforemid-April,” says Colditz. Theresearch project is an initia-tive of FEDSAS, with AfriFo-rum supporting FEDSAS andthe schools with legal costs.Colditz says cases such as
these rest upon penetratingand comprehensive re-search. “Making informeddecisions is a key aspect of ademocracy. Informed deci-sions are based on extensiveinformation and FEDSAS, aspart of the schools’ legalteam, will continue to gatherand investigate all possiblefacts pertaining to this case.”(FEDSAS is a voluntary as-
sociation of school governingbodies of public schools andsupports quality educationin these schools.More than 1 800 public
schools are alreadymembersof FEDSAS).
