Effective Behavioral & Instructional Support
EBIS is a school-wide discipline proactive system used for achieving important social and learning outcomes while preventing problem behavior.

Teaching Appropriate Behavior
Dragon News Network Character Education Monday Workshops Classroom discipline talks at the
beginning of the year by school administration
Frequent reminders from school administration and teachers throughout the year
Reasons for EBIS Referral
Students receive an EBIS for inappropriate behavior.
Examples may include: Disrespect Refusal to obey a reasonable request Class disruptions Profanity and vulgarity
Progressive Discipline Procedures
1st EBIS – student conference & parent signature required
2nd EBIS – student/teacher/parent conference, teacher intervention, & RTI behavior contract
3rd EBIS – student/teacher/parent conference, teacher intervention, review behavior contract, parent notified by teacher that an additional EBIS will result in an office referral
4th EBIS – Office referral drafted with copies of all referrals attached

Reasons for Dragon Scales
Using/Modeling good manners Being helpful to others Being prepared for class Demonstrating positive leadership skills Exceeding the Dragon Bees expectations
Behavioral Point Card
Any student having 95 points or better at the end of the 9 week period may be eligible for Good Behavior and Attendance day
Students are encouraged to contract with their teacher to earn their lost points during the quarter.

Dress code violations Bullying or harassing others Making a person feel uncomfortable or
embarrassed Social medium abuses (i.e., pictures and
hurtful words on texts and e-mails) Unsafe pick up and drop off areas
