Research Projects Senior Living Innovation designed three research projects to provide a springboard to transform senior communities through innovative models, services and infrastructure: Community Engagement The initial project involved community engagement, using the QUT Instabooth. The Instabooth leverages a number of QUT developed display and interaction technologies in order to facilitate a local dialogue of ideas and commentary. Learnings from this project informed two further studies utilising innovative research tools to gain a deeper insight into the lived experience and community perceptions of senior living across Australia.

Social Media Mapping The Digital Media Research Centre (DMRC) component of the project uses advanced social media data analysis to provide rich insights into how the Australian public imagines and talks about senior living environments and retirement, across a range of platforms and demographics. Online Community Online community forums were used to explore the everyday experiences of over-50s to gain insights into their living environment, personal wellness and community connectedness. The outcomes of these studies will inform the future direction of Senior LIving Innovation to positively impact the lives of senior Australians.
