    Background Brazilian economy is growing steadily among the emerging

    countries BRIC Given the international emphasis on importance of

    sustainable development, addressed to both Public andprivate sectors, the Brazilian climate for sustainability isstarting to get the attention of the major stakeholders

    Most multinational organizations with focus on sustainability,environment, social inclusion, are set up in Brazil

    All major corporations (bluechips of the stock market) bothBrazilian and transnational have initiatives in sustainability

    The two major business schools in Brazil (Getulio VargasFoundation www.fgv.br and Dom Cabral Foundationwww.fdc.org.br ) are investing heavily and expadingcontinually in their sustainability divisons

    There is no sustainability networking organization, similar to Net Impact

    STRATEGIC AND ACTION PLAN as per Net Impact plans adjusted to local requirements

    The phenomenon of blogging is in the context of the largerrevolutionary forces at play in the development of thesecond-generation Internet, where interactivity among usersis the key.

    With Web 2.0, there is a sea change occurring wherein theweb has become a truly participatory media; instead of goingon the web to read static content, the user can more easilycreate and share his own ideas and creations.

    From the perspective of Jeffrey Cole of the Center for theDigital Future at the University of Southern California, thesenew tools are nothing short of revolutionary in that they letanyone distribute their ideas potentially to tens of millions ofpeople.
