September 2011- to date

Lead person in community based biomedical

interventions targeted Most at Risk Populations in

Bushenyi, Mitooma and Rubirizi District. Has

organised Safe Male Medical Circumcision of upto

1435 Boda Boda riders and fishermen in the above

District in the last one year through SMC camps.

This enables him to bring on board expertise in

community mobilisation for SMC under the

proposed COMBINE Project.

Leader of the clinical team that carries out monthly

outreaches for ART at selected sites including

Katunguru,Kisenyi,Kazinga and Kashaka fishing

sites which are targeted under the COMBINE

project. He has established a good working

relationship with the BMC community volunteers in

Rubirizi District, associations of ten Boda Boda

stages in Rubirizi, Rubirizi District Network of

PLHIVA(RUDINET) as well as associations of

fisherfolks. This particular attribute enables him to

ably take lead in establishing a robust community

engagement during execution of the COMBINE

project.

Responsible for compiling monthly CDC/CAF

Uganda project reports while meticulously

following CDC reporting guidelines.

Lead of the team that runs a weekly radio program

on Bushenyi FM radio and Radio West giving

messages for HIV prevention including Positive

Health Dignity and Prevention(PHDP) messages,

promotion of ABC+, messages for increased uptake

of PMTCT, Adolescent-friendly “Stay Safe and

Smart” talk-shows, promotion of Smart

Choices/Faithfulness, messages for promotion of

VCT and role of early initiation into care as well as

emphasizing the role of Anti-retroviral Therapy in

HIV prevention(ART for prevention).

Part of the team that attends implementing partners’

meetings in our targeted Districts including Rubirizi

District. This attribute has enabled him develop

good working relationships with the implementing

partners in Rubirizi District where the COMBINE

project is proposed for implementation).

HIV/TB Treatment Strengthening(NESH)-Uganda

Accomplishments

Trained 60 couples in Smart Choices curriculum to

promote faithfulness among couples, partner

reduction promotion strategies, and role of condom

use in risky sex.

Lead trainer: March 2012 Triple S program.

Accomplishments

Used adolescent-friendly training tools and the

BMC Triple S (Stay Safe and Smart) training tool

kit to train 457 Peer Educators in 20 Secondary

Schools in greater Bushenyi. He will build on this

experience to reach out to out-of-school youths that

are targeted under the COMBINE Project.
