Dr.KristaBurns Dr. Krista Burns is the co-founder of the American Posture Institute. She is dedicated to being the world’s leading professional resource for posture-related information, products, and correction systems.

She graduated with honors as a Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Passionate about furthering her education, she completed a Doctorate in Health Administration with an emphasis in Global Health Policy. To increase her clinical expertise she completed certifications as a Certified Postural Neurologist, Certified Posture Expert, Certified Posture Exercise Professional, and is Board Eligible in Functional Chiropractic Neurology.

Dr. Krista is a published author and researcher in the field of health and wellness. She is the author of the evidence-based textbook, the Principles of Posture. Dr. Krista is also the creator of the Certified Postural Neurologist and Certified Posture Expert Programs. These are intensive online certifications educating healthcare professionals of the neurology of the posture system, brain-based postural correction strategies, and how to become the Go-To Posture Expert.

Dr. Krista is an inspiring public speaker and has been a featured presenter at seminars around the world including the World Congress of Neurology and the International Chronic Diseases Conference. She has created and implemented a publicly recognized postural hygiene program called “Better Posture for Brighter Futures” which has been implemented throughout the Italian school system.

She is the former Vice President of Membership for the League of Chiropractic Women and also the founder and Immediate Past President of the League of Chiropractic Women European Chapter, an organization dedicated to the advancement of women in the chiropractic profession. In addition to being a regular featured speaker at seminars to empower women, Dr. Krista was featured in Global Woman Magazine as a successful entrepreneur.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Krista has always had a love for fitness. She was a competitive member of the United States Freestyle Ski Team, and competed at the US National Ski Championships. Her love for sports continues today, as she is a nationally recognized fitness competitor in the category of Bikini Bodybuilding. In 2014 she was the Italian Grand Prix Overall Champion, she finished 3rd overall in the IBFA Bodybuilding World Championships, and 4th in the Italian Natural Bodybuilding Championships.

Dr. Krista has a passion for all things “health.” She lives the advice she gives. Her superior personal work ethic is demonstrated by her continuous devotion to academics, her professional accomplishments, her role as a female leader in the chiropractic profession, and her success as a professional athlete.
