Dr. Inspiring Ilango, fondly
known as I I was born as a
t o t a l l y b l i n d / v i s u a l l y
challenged on the 6th of April
1972 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu,
India since his parents were
closely related. His blindness
was rudely reminded of and on
by some peer children in the
n e i g h b o r h o o d d u r i n g
recreations.

He was a below average
student in his academics
until he came to high
school , where he was
h u m i l i a t e d b y h i s
Mathematics teacher for his
c o n t i n u a l f a i l u r e s .
Propelled by the wound he
scored district first in his
1 0 t h s t a n d a r d p u b l i c
examinations in 1987.
Childhood Education
For his higher secondary education he joined a school in Chennai, where he was the only
visually challenged student. He scored 200 out of 200 in Accountancy and Commerce
public examinations in 1989.

He did his B.A and M.A. in English Literature at Loyola College, Chennai. He was bullied
by the senior students for not being able to see anything or anyone. He was asked to
ponder over killing himself. Even as a first year student he was resilient with his tenacious
reply, “If you can exist why can't I live?”. He passed out of both his B.A and M.A with
distinction and Gold Medals in 1992 and 1994. He completed his M.phil in English
Language Teaching from the University of Madras in 1995.

schools and Gurunanak College,
Chennai. He resigned from the
University of Madras as an Assistant
Professor of English and founded an
organization, Ace Panacea Life
Skills Private Limited in 2009 to
bring about a qualitative change in
life skills training, film making and
entertainment.

educational institutions and private and public forums in and out of India to bring

A self-development book in Tamil, “Jeyippadhu Nijam” [Victory Is Certainty]
written by Dr. Inspiring Ilango and published by Kizhakku Padhipagam was
displayed for its first sale in January 2014. Hundreds of people particularly youth
have testified that they have been redeemed from suicidal tendencies and have
resolved with determination to face and fight the challenges of life until conquering
success triumphantly. Each of the chapters in the book begins with an anecdote of
inspiration from Inspiring Ilango's life.

Universal Tamil University besides many awards at national and international

“Dr. Inspiring Ilango, who has been without eyesight since birth proffers an insight before
humanity to combat any crisis situations and emerge happily and successfully. He has invented
Mind Tuning Programme for all age groups based on the hypothesis that human mind is like a
self programmable computer, which can be programmed or deprogrammed any time and any
number of times. The human body is the hardware, which must be maintained well daily. Some
of the musical instruments must be tuned periodically; electronic gadgets like mobile phones
and laptops must be charged regularly; so must be the human minds consciously. Happiness and
prosperity are the outputs only with the installation of software programmes such as clarity,
self-confidence and communication. There are various ways of breathing for dissimilar
circumstances to calm or invigorate the minds. These breathing techniques will clean the
internal human system, habituate healthy sleep patterns and train the minds in the art and
engineering of converting talents into skills for personal and social productivity. Then one can
commence the conscious journey from existing to living, hard work to smart work, being bosses
to leaders, being rich to being wealthy, having sight to vision, satisfaction to delight and
individual pleasure to humane happiness. Such enlightened individuals can empower the minds
with self-healing capacity, enable the minds to endure pain without suffering, sharpen one's
intuition for quick decision making and act with emotional intelligence and clear personal and
social vision for the betterment of this universe”.
