Outline for Today

• Gain practical experience in the field of fitness, strength and conditioning, public health, research, or a health-related profession (eg, PT, OT, AT).

• Emphasis on participation, observation, and administration

• Spring, summer or fall• 2 units

HES 493: Course Objectives

• Corporate fitness/wellness• Strength & conditioning• Clinical* (e.g., PT, OT, AT)

*Minimum GPA > 3.0

• Athletic administration, public health, research, (youth fitness)

• New sites? Need affiliation agreement• On-site interview

Type of Sites

• 450 hours (~30 hrs/wk for 15 weeks) at an approved site with a TCNJ agreement

• Class presentation• Impact project (approved by site)• Conference attendance• Class at TCNJ once per month• On-site visit & assessment

Course Requirements

• A special project, program or event that contributes to the agency or clinic

2. If approved, schedule mtg with Dr Faigenbaum to discuss possible sites; take HIPPA quiz; schedule onsite interview

3. Gather health prereqs; schedule appt for drug screening & criminal background check. Upload all forms
