D+R DESIGN

We have been offering professional consultancy in architecture, planning and interior design to clients worldwide since 2004. Our architects and consultants are committed to delivering quality services for a wide range of projects – from small renovation projects to large scale multi-use commercial development. We are committed to finding the most appropriate design for each project. This is accomplished through a detailed analysis of physical conditions, cultural context, client’s needs and budget.

INCLUSIVE DESIGN PROCESSWe strongly adhere to an inclusive approach in our work. This involves close collaboration with clients and user groups throughout design and execution of projects. Early involvement of all participants allows for timely resolutions of all challenges in a project. The holistic design process is further supported by a fastidious attention to details and documentation in all stages of design and execution. Also, we assure experienced personnel to lead and coordinate team efforts on all projects.

SUSTAINABLE DESIGN Sustainable and cost effective design is an essential goal in all our projects. This involves use of natural materials and efficient use of energies to create light, airy and elegant living and working spaces. Our green approach is based on a comprehensive analysis of site conditions, building program, budgets, aesthetic needs and pragmatic conditions to reduce the carbon footprint of a project, both during construction and through the life-cycle of the building. We are trained to help with compliance and certification by GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) by The Energy and Resources Institute and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) by the Indian Green Building Council.

QUALITY DELIVERYWe are committed to delivering all projects on schedule and on budget. We have incorporated the latest BIM applications (Building Information Modeling) into our design and documentation process, in addition to traditional drawing tools. Thorough exploration of design issues in a BIM virtual model and physical models during early schematic design, resolves all design challenges well before the tender and construction stage. BIM methods have also enhanced accuracy and productivity in documentation. Further, BIM virtual building models help clients to clearly visualize their projects in 3D. In addition, we use current workplace technologies such as email, Skype, cloud servers to communicate and deliver services to our clients worldwide.

EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIPThe two founding architects of the firm have more than twenty years of experience each in the field of design and construction. After working and travelling in the United States and Europe, they established the design practice in Bangalore. Their wide exposure and experience helps in providing innovative design solutions that are contemporary and contextual. A third architect partner based in Seattle, USA has added to our extensive experience and further expanded our work internationally.

Deepak Gupta, M.Arch., B.Arch.

Principal Architect.

Deepak Gupta has practiced architecture in Mumbai, Seattle and Bangalore for

over twenty years. Prior to founding D+R DESIGN, he has successfully designed

and managed a diverse range of projects including commercial, educational and

residential projects.

Earlier in India, he worked with Charles Correa after completing undergraduate

studies in architecture. There he worked on diverse range of large and small

projects from housing to institutional projects. Subsequently, he pursued

graduate studies in United States and then practiced in Seattle before starting his

independent design practice in Bangalore, India.

He has deep interest in sustainability in the built world. It continues to be basis

of his works. His other areas of interests include building information modeling

and other technologies in service of integrated design. He is also involved in

Indological studies and its relevance in contemporary Indian context.

Rashmi Gupta, B.Arch.

Principal Architect.

Rashmi Gupta has worked on a wide range of architectural and interiors projects

during her practice in Mumbai, Seattle and now Bangalore. She specialises in

high-end custom homes and multi-family housing. Her work has sought to enrich

the community and instill a sense of place. She is passionate about incorporating

sustainable design strategies in the built environment that are green as well cost

effective.

She also has keen interest in interior design. She strongly believes that interior

space has to be functional and minimal. It must engage the dwellers and enhance

their experience. Her other areas of interests include furniture and accessory

design.

Andrew Russin, M.Arch. AIA.

Principal Architect.

Andrew Russin is a US registered architect with twenty years experience in a full

range of building types. After receiving his Master of Architecture degree from MIT

and design courses at Harvard GSD, Andrew has lived and worked internationally

in such diverse cities as: Washington DC, Dominican Republic, Barcelona,

Boston, Seattle and most recently, Bangalore India.

He has specialized in Institutional and Commercial projects ranging from

laboratory design and public school buildings to regional retail shopping malls and

speculative multifamily housing.

Andrew has a passion for design that extends into the broader scope of urban

design and city planning. He considers regional sensitivity and timeless design top

priority in addition to client responsiveness and successful project execution.
