Motivation for Green Efforts
Some pressure to go green by board
No external pressure to go green yet
Half have seen ROI on green efforts
Conclusions• 42 % CIOs report there is no company Green Plan• 45% CIOs don’t have a Green IT Plan• 70% of CIOs have not made an ROI calculation for green IT• There is more movement on the operational green IT issue by issue
front where in the majority of the cases there is a plan to implement some kind of green policy
• In only one third of the operational issues has there been some movement towards completion of a plan
• The major motivator the CIO sees to go green for now is the Board, not government regulation (but that may change with a new administration in Washington)
