The body copy follows the conventions of a standard double page spread, as it is organised into columns. The article itself is a typical interview, which will appeal to the teen audience, as they will want to find out more about Cher’s opinions, feelings and secrets and will want to especially discover more about her personal life, as promised in the headline. The questions within the interview are presented in pink, maintaining the publication’s brand identity and allowing the young reader to easily differentiate between the questions and answers. A feminine feel is created through the use of this colour too. Interestingly enough, certain parts of the article are highlighted in yellow, much like on the contents page, creating a symbiotic link between the two. Again, it is as if the magazine is drawing attention to the parts of the article that they know the audience will find most exciting. This proves that the publication understands and cares about its readership, knowing what they like and wanting to keep them happy. This level of care and attention will help the magazine to sell.

Within the article, the audience will see pink shapes. This is an effective stylistic approach, as it reflects the feminine, fun and youthful personality of both the readership and the publication, whilst the quirky shapes help to enhance the audience ‘s understanding of Cher’s quirky and edgy persona.

The standfirst heightens the appeal of the article by suggesting that the audience will find out something they did not know about her, which will intrigue them and make them read on. An imperative is used within the standfirst, to make the readership feel that they must keep reading. The use of the word ‘now’ will urge the audience to believe that they must do nothing other than read this article this instant!
