Within each strand are specialized subject areas such as Anti-Bullying under Violence Prevention, Sexual Health under Health & Wellness, etc. Culturally competent professionals specifically trained on various subject areas curate and create resources, as well as provide direct services such as training, professional development, assessment, intervention and follow-up support.

About the DPI Prevention Calendar: The DPI Prevention Calendar of observances shares known prevention related dates of significance. Use these dates to maintain the impetus for all your prevention and intervention related efforts year-round and as a starting point for prevention related lessons or school/community events. Observances are excellent tools to both educate and mobilize your students to action! The calendar’s observances are color coded to the 6 strands of prevention and intervention: MTSS/Academic & Behavioral Supports, Diversity, Health & Wellness, Instructional Strategies, Violence Prevention, Substance Abuse. Each date will link to either a lesson and resource toolkit or the observance website. Please note the exact observance dates may change year to year, so utilize the founding organization’s link to confirm and access relevant lessons.
