we all have an innate desire to be understood. language, art, music all communicate pieces of ourselves we want to share with the world.

and further than that there is the continual nature of people to seek out that one person with whom to share their entire life. so within my degree project i want to explore the idea of partnership.

to begin exploring this I thought it best to go straight to the source.

get real stories from real people. initially i wanted to focus on seniors, to get their take on love and partnership having wisdom from experience. but after discussion on the topic, my scope broadened to include another generation to get opinions and stories from.

my generation. millennials. to put our thoughts and stories side by side with the older generation. to explore what has changed and what holds true when it comes to a partnership

what better way to tell a love story than within a book.

where you can read a persons entire story

see couples from these dierent generations side by side with each other. from a marriage lasting 57 years to a newlywed couple.

and to focus in on certain moments like when a couple interviewed separately referenced the same quote about love.

i have chosen two very dierent generations. but whatever changes the years bring with fashion, technology, mannerisms, people still have desires and stories and a need to share these with others. and i want to bring together the young and old and maybe gleam some knowledge on what it really means to share your life with another person.
