Hymn of Praise Come, Thou Almighty King Anonymous

Come, Thou Almighty King, Help us Thy Name to sing,

Help us to praise. Father, all glorious, o’er all victorious,

Come and reign over us, Ancient of Days.

Come Thou Incarnate Word, Gird on Thy mighty sword,

Our prayer attend. Come, and Thy people bless, and give Thy Word success;

Spirit of holiness, on us descend.

Come, Holy Comforter, Thy sacred witness bear,

In this glad hour. Thou Who almighty art, now rule in every heart,

And ne’er from us depart, Spirit of pow’r. Confession of Faith Heidelberg Catechism Question 13 Leader: What is your only comfort in life and in death?

Immortal, You are not like a man That You change Your mind or change Your plan.

Amazing Grace Newton/Tomlin

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.

My chains are gone, I’ve been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me,

And like a flood His mercy reigns; Unending love, amazing grace.

The Lord has promised good to me,

His Word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be,

As long as life endures.

Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder Newton

Let us love and sing and wonder, Let us praise the Savior’s name.

He has hushed the law’s loud thunder, He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame.

He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has brought us nigh to God.

Let us love the Lord Who bought us,

Pitied us when enemies, Called us by His grace and taught us,

Gave us ears and gave us eyes. He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood,

He presents our souls to God.

Let us sing though fierce temptation Threaten hard to bear us down.

For the Lord, our strong salvation, Holds in view the conqu’ror’s crown. He, Who washed us with His blood, He, Who washed us with His blood, He, Who washed us with His blood,

Soon will bring us home to God. Prayers of Thanksgiving & Petition Reception of New Member

Samuel Reese Wells Offering Sermon4 Pastor Tommy Lee Series: “Come to me… and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)

LVII. Didn’t See That Coming... Or That... Or That. Matthew 16:20-23 The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper A Word About Communion - The bread and juice you see on the Communion table may not look like much to the casual observer. In fact, it is merely bread and juice. What makes this meal special is that the Lord Jesus Christ is spiritually present in a unique way. This sacrament is not something to be taken lightly but neither is it a time to be somber; rather, we should be filled with thankfulness and joy. Our Savior, out of His great mercy, bids His people to come to this meal. If you are a member of a church who embraces the Gospel of Jesus Christ and are at peace with your fellow Christians, we welcome you to this table. Come and consider with us our Lord’s body and shed blood symbolized in the bread and juice. Rejoice with us in our union with Him and with each other as His Covenant people.

4 4, 5, & 6 year-old children may be dismissed before the sermon to Godly Play in room 173.

What Wondrous Love Is This

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul, What wondrous love is this, O my soul!

What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,

To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!

When I was sinking down, sinking, down, sinking down, When I was sinking down, sinking down,

When I was sinking down beneath God's righteous frown, Christ laid aside His crown for my soul, for my soul

Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.

And what wondrous love is this, Though I raised my clenched fist He opened up my hand

To receive His gift. And what wondrous love is here,

The God immortal has drawn near and shed His blood, To close the rift.

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sign on,

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on; And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,

And through eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on, And through eternity, I’ll sing on!

Benediction5 Jesus! What a Friend for Sinners! Pritchard

Hallelujah! What a Savior! Hallelujah! What a friend! Saving, helping, keeping, loving. He is with me to the end.

5 Just as God called us into His presence at the beginning, so now He commands His blessing upon us as we depart. We look up and extend our hands in a posture of thanksgiving as we receive this great gift. Our final response to God’s assurance of His peace and presence upon those who are in Christ is a chorus of joyful song.
