The Worship of God August 22, 2010

Welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus! If you are a guest with us, please be sure to sign our Registry when it is passed during the service. Children are welcome in our worship. We have a nursery available for children 3 and under. Children 4 to 6 years of age may be dismissed to Godly Play prior to the sermon. Thank you for joining us today and may the Lord richly bless you. Song of Assembly1 You Are God Alone Foote

You are not a god Created by human hands

You are not a god Dependant on any mortal man

You are not a god In need of anything we can give

By Your plan, that’s just the way it is

You are God alone From before time began

You were on Your throne Your are God alone

And right now In the good times and bad You are on Your throne

You are God alone

You’re the only God Whose power none can contend

You’re the only God Whose name and praise will never end

You’re the only God Who’s worthy of everything we can give

You are God And that’s just the way it is

Unchangeable Unshakable Unstoppable

That’s what You are Welcome and Preparation for Worship To pray “Thy Kingdom Come” is searching and demanding, for one must be ready to add, “and start with me; make me your fully obedient subject.” Made sincerely, this is a prayer that the Savior, who calls us to self-denial and cross-bearing and consent that one’s life be lost one way or another in serving the gospel, may have His way with us completely. Take My Life Havergal/Tomlin

Take my life and let it be Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;

Take my moments and my days, Let them flow in endless praise;

Take my hands and let them move

At the impulse of Thy love. Take my feet and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee;

Take my voice and let me sing,

Always, only for my King. Take my lips and let them be

Filled with messages from Thee;

Take my silver and my gold, Not a mite would I withhold.

Take my intellect and use Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

Here am I, all of me.

Take my life, it’s all for Thee.

Take my will and make it Thine, It shall be no longer mine;

Take my heart, it is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal throne.

Take my love, my Lord, I pour At Thy feet its treasure store;

Take myself and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee.

Prayers of Thanksgiving & Petition Offering Sermon3 Pastor Rob Bailey Series: “Come to me… and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)

LIX. Jesus’ Pattern, and Ours Matthew 17:1-13 The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper A Word About Communion - The bread and juice you see on the Communion table may not look like much to the casual observer. In fact, it is merely bread and juice. What makes this meal special is that the Lord Jesus Christ is spiritually present in a unique way. This sacrament is not something to be taken lightly but neither is it a time to be somber; rather, we should be filled with thankfulness and joy. Our Savior, out of His great mercy, bids His people to come to this meal. If you are a member of a church who embraces the Gospel of Jesus Christ and are at peace with your fellow Christians, we welcome you to this table. Come and consider with us our Lord’s body and shed blood symbolized in the bread and juice. Rejoice with us in our union with Him and with each other as His Covenant people.

3 4, 5, & 6 year-old children may be dismissed before the sermon to Godly Play in room 173.

Glorify Thy Name Adkins

Father, we love You, We worship and adore You,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth. Glorify Thy name, Glorify Thy name,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth!

Jesus, we love You, We worship and adore You,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth. Glorify Thy name, Glorify Thy name,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth!

Spirit, we love You, We worship and adore You,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth. Glorify Thy name, Glorify Thy name,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth! Benediction4 2 Corinthians 13:14 How Great Is Our God Tomlin/Cash/Reeves

How great is our God Sing with me

How great is our God And all will see how great

How great is our God

4 Just as God called us into His presence at the beginning, so now He commands His blessing upon us as we depart. We look up and extend our hands in a posture of thanksgiving as we receive this great gift. Our final response to God’s assurance of His peace and presence upon those who are in Christ is a chorus of joyful song.
