Downloading Cubase LE
For those customers who receive Steinberg software, like Cubase LE, with third-party
hardware, a MySteinberg account is mandatory in order to obtain a permanent
license for their product. MySteinberg is thus for many customers their first contact
with Steinberg: this is where they register and where they ask for support.
With the hardware they have just purchased, customers receive a link which takes
them to a Steinberg landing page which prompts them to create a MySteinberg
account to download Cubase LE.

A click on the button on the landing page takes customers to MySteinberg, where
they are asked to log in with an existing MySteinberg account or to create a new one.
Email address and password suffice to create a MySteinberg account. Customers
are free to add more personal data by editing their profile later on.

After entering their email address and choosing a password, customers receive an
email.
This message contains a link which needs to be clicked to activate the MySteinberg
account.

After entering their password, customers are prompted to enter the Download Access
Code they have received with the purchased hardware.
After that, customers receive the Activation Code required to permanently activate
Cubase LE.

After downloading and installing Cubase LE, customers enter the Activation Code in
the eLicenser Control Center (eLCC) to permanently activate Cubase LE.
The eLCC is a local application which is installed with Cubase LE.
